BTW - the idea that refugees/asylum seekers don’t settle in countries nearest to those from which their escaping is BS. The UN’s register of displaced people gives this list of countries with most refugees:
Turkey - 3.7M
Colombia - 1.7M
Uganda - 1.5M
Lebanon-1.5M
Pakistan-1.4M
