@virginmedia internet down 2 days in a row but unable to register for updates online as keeps failing… service has been so patchy recently, sort it out 😡

@badcsuk Phone calls ring out/go to voicemail that is never responded to and emails are ignored.... just a complete and utter shambles. Sorry for a billion tweets - this is all West Northants Council (formerly known as Northants County Council) 👎👎👎

@badcsuk As their social media person seems to just be reading case notes off a system so it could be from previous ticket... but no way of knowing as social media person says they aren't able to find out more and there's no way of making contact with the department dealing with it

@badcsuk I have since raised another complaint about the atrocious attitude towards my case, lack of apology or action to avoid it happening again - nothing. I got instant replies to my tweets saying they had actioned cancellation of my tickets but I don't know if that is the old tickets

@badcsuk Anywho. I never got a response. They just completely ignored me despite a couple of chases over a few months. I then received yet another ticket on the speed bump two weeks ago 🤬 I immediately emailed to advise it had happened again because of their lack of action - no response

@badcsuk How much money has been made out of people who don't know the ticket could be appealed? Or conversely, how much time have they wasted going through the appeals process to cancel all these tickets when they could just retrain the wardens or fix the road... surely cheaper options

@badcsuk I responded asking for what action would be taken to avoid this happening again, and highlighted that as I only park there every once in a while there must be other people who have also had tickets on the speed bump. Wonder how many of those didn't know the ticket was invalid?

@badcsuk Eventually got a response to the ticket appeal, was told every excuse under the sun as to why the situation was unavoidable and why it wasn't poor service to wait 3 months for a reply - no apology, no steps to amend the road markings, no attempt to accept I had a bad experience

@badcsuk Raised a complaint encompassing alllll of the story - was told they couldn't deal with any of it because it was to do with a parking ticket and I needed to follow the appeals process for tickets. Explained that I also wanted the surrounding issues to be looked into... no action

@badcsuk Then got a kind yet clueless operator, who told me I should make a sign saying 'these lines are no longer valid' and put it up so that I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of dealing with another ticket...??? Was told best option was to raise a complaint via the website.

@badcsuk I tried to reach previous helpful and apologetic person - was told due to pandemic couldn't speak with anyone. Had to go back to the 0300 switchboard - was told if I couldn't call 0845 numbers I should go to a neighbours house to use their landline.... in height of lockdown...

@badcsuk They were very apologetic, it will never happen again, we will request lines are updated and ensure everyone is fully aware to check their map for restrictions etc etc.

Three months later my partner received a ticket in the same place 🤦‍♀️ I was, understandably, pissed.

@badcsuk Despite politely explaining why I was calling that number and asking if it would be possible to transfer or advise an email address I had one phone operator tell me to 'find another phone to call from' and then hang up on me, but finally got someone who got me through to highways

@badcsuk So then called to confirm ticket cancelled and complain about rude treatment from warden (which was a hassle in itself because council had only 0845 numbers and my mobile will not call these, it just ends the call, so had to go through sole 0300 switchboard number)

@badcsuk I asked to see the map, and it showed there were no restrictions where ticket was issued, so he then had a go at me for there being yellow bricks in speed bump... 'you wouldn't have got a ticket if the lines had been removed properly!' Didn't realise that was public's job 🤦‍♀️

@badcsuk Luckily the warden was still in the street so I politely asked him if he could cancel the ticket and explained where the restrictions start/end due to previous encounter. He was rude and told me he couldn't cancel the ticket and hadn't made an error and had a map to prove it

@badcsuk Anyway, lines refreshed, life went on. Several months later I had a knock at the door from a neighbour to ask if I was parked in the taxi rank as a warden was checking out my car - no, I'm further up on the speed bump so it's ok. However, a ticket had been issued.

@badcsuk They tried to tell me someone must have faked the signs to have a street party and that I should ignore them even though they had their logo on… highways turned up 12 hours later to repaint yellow lines yet they swore blind they had no knowledge of this….!

@badcsuk Side note: during the process of contesting the ticket due to non-existent lines, some signs appeared on lampposts advising people to not park in street due to planned roadworks. When I called highways to check what work was/dates etc was told they had no record and must be fake!

@badcsuk After first few metres at one end of road, rest of street is totally unrestricted (on this side) until a taxi rank at the end of the road, after the speed bump I mentioned.
