Today is African Liberation Day — a time to commemorate heroic victories against colonialism and capitalism in Africa and rededicate ourselves to continuing that fight today.

So much of the vast wealth of the capitalist class in the big imperialist powers was stolen from Africa — land, labor and resources. From the horrors of the slave trade to the colonization of the continent and the neo-colonialism of today, the ultra rich and their corporations have pillaged Africa. But the people have always and will always resist. This continues today as U.S. and French imperialism in particular step up their military presence.

The US indicts Raúl Castro while it gave safe harbor to Luis Posada Carriles for 13 years.

Posada bombed a passenger plane killed 73 people, Bombed Havana hotels and killed an Italian tourist. Plotted to assassinate Castro.

The US never indicted him for terrorism. He died free in Miami. He was a CIA operative.

Again, this is not about security, freedom or justice, it’s about continuing a long war against Cuba.
