Not pro-life. Pro forced birth. That’s the correct terminology for anyone who discards the life, health, mental well-being, survival and freedom of the living… for the unborn. Who they will then equally disregard the human rights of once born.
To face the truth that some things are too much. To realise minds aren’t entirely under conscious control. To accept the mystery and potential nightmares minds can unfurl - that is not weakness. That is the very opposite of weakness.
People are scared of mental issues. That is the truth of it. They call anyone with any mental condition weak because they want to delude themselves into believing they have entire mastery over their mind. Mental illness affronts their whole free will worldview. That is the fear.
Imagine, for a moment, if the antisocial behaviour carried out in the name of football was carried out in the name of BLM or Extinction Rebellion or a vigil for a murdered woman and the hypocrisy becomes clear.
Monday: happy international women’s day! Women should feel empowered to call out bullying and abuse.
Tuesday: how dare a woman speak out about something that’s had a huge impact on her mental health?
Wednesday: if women choose to walk home alone then they put themselves at risk.
Keys between fingers, walking in the middle of the road, avoiding gaps in hedges or entrances to alleyways, phone on, headphones out, cross the road, check over your shoulder. We aren't born doing this stuff, we learn over years of watching women's trauma play out #SarahEverard
