It’s hard to believe, but this month marks 10 years since I started Amplify Motion/Edit.
I’m incredibly grateful for the journey so far and to all the clients who’ve trusted and supported me along the way. Your collaboration has made all of this possible.
When it comes to Adobe After Effects, competing companies now believe that charging for a challenger application is a non-starter.

Apple killed the Mac Pro in 2013, when it decided to go with the cylindrical version, IMO. They really should just have kept the cheese grater. And allowed NVidia cards. The NVidia issue was actually probably a bigger factor.

I love the phrase 'Carpe Diem.' This article turns the phrase on it's head a little bit, but I appreciate it just as much. Short read. Worth it.

Update tonight: the number to bring our mortgage current is $21,753.
111 people have helped raise $19,080.
We’re about $2,700 short of keeping our house.
If you can help or share, it means a lot. Link below.
@Oddernod Going back to some of the original posts re: fragmented media. We no longer have a limited number of actors telling us how the world is. It's now everyone. Can't say it's better or worse. But your point: "Stop living like everyone is watching," is prescient.
Your afternoon crash isn't about lunch.
It's your ultradian rhythm—a 90-120 minute biological cycle.
Stop fighting it with coffee. Start scheduling around it.

I wish more content producers would provide video feeds for the Podcasts app. Most of the time I don't need the video, but some podcasts I listen to are presentations, etc, and the video would be really nice to have.

@editblog The subscription or buy outright is something I want all software to support.
Interesting that it seems you can buy outright, and still get all the updates.
@careyd It surprises me, but it doesn't. You've always been practical and "non-partisan" when it comes to gear. Are you thinking the M5 Ultra Mac Studio (when it comes out) would be the machine to potentially tip the scales?
I loved the Mac Pro back in the day, and it makes me sad to see this product line's probable end. But it's been over a decade since I've needed one. My next machine is likely a Mac Studio. If I need expandability, I'd get a Windows machine, since Nvidia isn't available on a Mac (I assume that's still true), and that's the expandability I would likely want that you can't do over Thunderbolt.

I was one of the few in my circle of editors, motion designers, etc that gave FCPX a shot and ended up loving it. This story from @heyeddie_ai is an interesting look back at the disastrous launch. It's still my favorite video editing tool, although I spend much more time in Premiere Pro.
