The turning point, in my opinion, was the refereeing. I didn’t agree with the penalty that was awarded to Argentina earlier in the game, and after that it felt as though every important decision was going against Egypt. Egypt will leave this tournament feeling heartbroken because they were so close to one of the greatest victories in their history. @andynewmanlpc I knew it was a principle in D&C as a teenager, but it was always presented as a reaction to the “thousands of widows” the Mormon Trail experience supposedly created, i.e. it was a BY era thing. And the polyandry was definitely never spoken of!
