Vinesh missed weight this morning by only 100 grams or 0.22 lbs.
Want to know how small that is?
100 grams weighs as much as these household items:
•1 bar of soap
•1 kiwi
•2 eggs
•100 paper clips

Excited to share our work with @avilgelm showing dendritic cell therapy augments anti-tumor immunity with CDK4/6i and immune checkpoint blockade!

Meet the Author: Dr. Amrendra Kumar (@Amrendra_81), a #NewPI and #ECR from @VanderbiltU (formerly @OhioState), is 1st author of “Dendritic cell therapy augments a-tumor immunity triggered by CDK4/6 inhibition & ICB by unleashing systemic CD4 T cell responses,” now in #JITC! 1/7
He is most excited about basic and translational immunology. He recently started his own research lab @Vanderbilt focused on the role of innate-like lymphocytes and their role in health and disease. He is happy to be receiving great support from his mentors and leadership. 3/7
Outside of research Dr. Kumar likes “to spend time with my family; my wife and our two little boys. I like to read and occasionally love to socialize with friends and their families. Currently our little one keeps all of us busy. And I am loving every moment of my paternity.” 6/7
...our findings are “clinically translatable. DC therapies have shown promise and safety in clinical trials but haven’t been clinically effective. Our research might reinvigorate assessment of DC therapies as a combinatorial approach, with CDK4/6i or other immunogenic drugs.” 5/7
He’s excited to share his work in #JITC as “The combination therapy we assessed in the current work [CDK4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6i), immune-checkpoint blockade (ICB) and dendritic cell (DC) therapy] are all either in clinical use and/or development. This is exciting since...” 4/7
Dr. Kumar was inspired to become a researcher after interactions with patients & clinicians, witnessing the enormous challenges and unmet needs in medical research. 2/7
Happy and excited to share our recent work!!!Our study finds that DC therapies could improve the responsiveness of CDK4/6i and ICB combination in HR+ breast cancers by promoting CD4 t cell-mediated anti tumor immunity..@jitcancer@smreddymd@avilgelm
Congratulations to super-star postdoc and all around awesome person @BlaiseKimmel for being awarded the Distinguished Performance by a Postdoctoral Scholar Award by the @VUEngineering Dept. of Chemical Engineering! Well deserved and we are so fortunate to have you in our group!
Elementary school students and leaders have formed a tunnel that House lawmakers will be forced to walk through when session starts in an hour or so.
