TLDR: Rare opportunity!! We're hiring for some Game Designer roles that do not require previous Game Design experience, with a major focus on Critical Thinking, Growth Mindset, and game familiarity. So if you're looking to switch careers, great opportunity!

Longer Post: With things how they are in the world today, we're excited to open up this rare opportunity, as we're looking for the next batch of future Game Designers to help shape our games.
We're looking for strong analytical thinking skills, deep passion for our games, and a growth mind set to come in and absorb and learn and grow into awesome designers.
I'm personally excited as the last time we did this, we ended up with @kentwuhoo who was working in Finance at the time, but came in as a TFT player and absorbed so much, and is now a Senior Game Designer running our finalization team. This could be you!
On the TFT side, the folks we hire will get to be a part of every single set, helping on Live or Finalization, and acting as experts in TFT mechanics, game feel, balance, and so much more. Working directly with folks like Kent, @Chaemirix , and myself. I might even be your manager!
If you seriously think this is you, and you have a deep interest in TFT and Game Design, make sure you apply fast. Stuff like this will fill up quick, and likely have a ton of applicants. We're hoping to find the right folks to come in and help us continue to make our games great.
Good luck, and I look forward to working with whoever ends up getting these roles :)
Tomorrow, the stream returns with the new League of Legends season! I'm a bit excited to run it down Briar all year on a new map with new items.
Its definitely going to take awhile, but I'm aiming for Master this year!
I'm pretty sure was today years old when I first figured this one out...
You can do default references when assigning a script. Still not what I want to do with this bit long term, but hey it works for now! Now to go spend time on more important tool functionality lol.
Presenting my #CellBio2023 poster today at 12:15 on how our video game #Microscopya combines molecular mechanisms with visual metaphors to create puzzles that communicate science in intuitive ways! Currently looking for collaborators, so please stop by! #SciArt#SciCom#IndieDev
@Strippin I went on a pretty bad losing streak two weeks or so ago and got down to above 30 losses with sub 20 gains. It took over 60 games with a ~70% wr to finally stabilize again. But I did get to do it mostly on Briar, which was fun :D
But overall it sucks to get stuck in the situation
Finally got my passport, and I'm excited for the Serious Play Conference in October. 🥳 My first international trip also gets to be on my birthday haha.
I'm loving BG3, but is it blasphemy to say Dragon Age Origins had a better gameplay design and UX than Baldurs Gate 3? It feels like there was a lot of near hits that would've made it more enjoyable.
Encounter design is infinitely better in BG3 at least :P
I assigned a TextMeshPro material to the test player capsule in my current project, because I thought it would be funny. And the results of the first person camera don't disappoint 🤣
I love when a small thing comes along and gives you a little more pleasure than it really should lol. Today that was having a switch statement auto generated.
I'm sure its been a thing for a long time, but discovering little time savers is always nice.
Stream schedule for this week!
We are going hard on actually finishing Cassette Beasts this week before I have to shift my gears primarily to work projects. It would feel bad to leave the run hanging haha.
Final Fantasy 10 should resume next week!
Well, there is some great news for me and some less than great news for the stream.
I'm officially working on two new projects, and I'm excited to help these games get off the ground. But starting the 12th I think we have to cut down to one scheduled stream a week for gaming.
Schedule for the next week is going to have some shorter streams. I have some cool work projects that should have updates this week, and apparently I have more than 15 hours left in Cassette Beasts anyway. So I wouldn't have finished it this week either way. 😅
I love being pleasantly surprised by a game, and the first session of Cassette Beasts definitely surpassed my expectations. I'm looking forward to seeing if it continues to hold up on Sunday!
