The times we live in demand creative thinking, bold dreams and actionable goals.
Governance must be deliberate, responsive and focused on results. When service delivery is prioritised, governance becomes simpler—and people become the true beneficiaries of public resources.
I am running as Busia County gubernatorial candidate in 2027 to take power back to the people.
A county government that listens.
A county government that delivers.
A government that works for everyone.
Service. Accountability. Development. People First.
On 10th August 2027, the people of Busia County will have the opportunity to choose the leadership and direction they want for the next chapter of our county.
I have offered myself for the position of Governor because I believe Busia deserves leadership that listens, serves and delivers.
My vision is simple: a Busia where healthcare works, our farmers prosper, our children receive quality education, our youth and women have opportunities, our roads and water systems improve, and public resources are used responsibly.
This journey is not about one person. It is about all of us and the future we want for Busia.
The countdown has begun.
365 days to choose progress.
365 days to choose service.
365 days to choose a better Busia.
Arthur Amug Osiya | Governor, Busia County 2027
The anxiety among Busia's failed leaders is impossible to hide. They are desperately looking for places to hide and prepare for their escape routes. The momentum for change is growing, and the prospect of facing an informed and determined electorate is keeping many of them awake at night. their comfort zones continue to shrink.
Habemus Episcopum! (We have a Bishop!)
With great joy and thanksgiving to Almighty God, we congratulate the Diocese of Katakwa on the election of The Venerable Dr. Vitalis Ekuru as Bishop-Elect of Katakwa.
This is a moment of profound grace for the Diocese and the wider Church. We give thanks for the discernment of the electors and for God's call upon Bishop-Elect Vitalis Ekuru to this sacred office. As he prepares for his consecration and installation, we pray that the Holy Spirit will endow him with wisdom, courage, humility, and compassion to shepherd the people of God faithfully.
May his episcopal ministry be marked by sound teaching, pastoral care, unity, and a steadfast witness to the Gospel of Christ. We assure him of our prayers and support as he undertakes this new chapter of service in the Church.
Congratulations to Bishop-Elect Ven. Dr. Vitalis Ekuru and to the Diocese of Katakwa on this joyous and historic occasion.
A political awakening is sweeping across Busia. The old politics of promises without delivery is being challenged by a new generation of citizens who demand accountability, development, and results. Busia will not be transformed by noise-makers or career politicians—it will be transformed by courageous people and visionary leadership willing to confront challenges and build a future worthy of our children. The moment for change has arrived, and Busia will not look back
Busia cannot afford another five years of excuses disguised as leadership.
Our people are hardworking, resilient, and full of potential—but they have been failed by a system that prioritizes survival of leaders over service to citizens. That must end.
This election is a defining moment. A moment to reject corruption, reject complacency, and reject the culture of broken promises. We must choose leadership that is fearless in action, firm on accountability, and focused on delivering real results—jobs for our youth, dignity in healthcare, value for our farmers, and clean water.
Busia doesn’t need caretakers. Busia needs builders and services to the people.
The power is in our hands. Let’s use it to rewrite our story for generations that will come.
Busia does not need recycled leadership dressed in new slogans. We need bold, decisive, and accountable leadership—leadership that is present, that listens, and that delivers real results.
The future of Busia will not be shaped by empty noise or recycled promises. It will be defined by the courage of its people to rise, to demand better, and to choose leadership that truly serves.
Our people have waited long enough. We deserve transparent leadership, real development that reaches every household, and a government that listens—not one that speaks only during elections.
For too long, resources have been mismanaged, opportunities unfairly distributed, and the voices of our people ignored. That must change.
I am stepped forward not for power, but to restore dignity, fairness, and accountability in leadership. With your support, we will build a county where no community is left behind.
This journey began many days ago—from the shores of Lake Victoria, across Bunyala and Samia, to the hills of Teso. It is a movement of the people.
Let us rise and walk this journey together.
My vision is simple:
A Busia where systems work, farmers prosper, hospitals function, children learn, and every family has opportunity.
I will not sleep for four years and wake up in the fifth year to do political optics for re-election. My work will begin from day one and continue every single day of my term.
Leadership is not about appearances at the end of a term. It is about consistent service, accountability, and results for the people.
Together, we will build a productive, healthy, and prosperous Busia County where development is felt in every ward, every village, and every household.

The Chief Justice urged the PSC to make government a model employer grounded in merit, transparency, fairness and integrity, and called on the Law Reform Commission to advance proactive, evidence-based legal reforms aligned with constitutional values
Today, I conveyed a message of condolence from His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto to the family of the late Bramwel Eshepet Ekatani at Machakusi, Teso South Sub-county.
His Excellency the President eulogized the late Bramwel Eshepet Ekatani as a distinguished community elder and a respected family patriarch whose life of service and leadership left a lasting impact on the community.
The late Bramwel Eshepet Ekatani was the father of Engineer Vincent Sidai, the former Lamu Port Manager.
The President extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, relatives, and the entire community during this period of mourning.
Today, international footballer Victor Wanyama paid a courtesy visit to my office as part of his continued commitment to giving back to the community.
Mr. Wanyama is currently constructing a football talent development centre in Nambale Sub-County, featuring four modern pitches, which is now 80% complete. The centre is aimed at nurturing young football talent and creating pathways for local players to access opportunities at the global level.
In support of grassroots sports, I have also facilitated pitch improvement works at Elwanikha Primary School grounds, enhancing access to safe and quality sporting facilities for children and the surrounding community.
Victor Wanyama expressed his strong desire to identify and develop football talent from Busia County, with opportunities extending internationally, particularly to the United Kingdom and Scotland. His visit reflects a deep commitment to returning to the community and investing in the future of our youth through sports.
The Kenya Kwanza Government, under the visionary leadership of H.E. President William Samoei Ruto, continues to transform the lives of Kenyans by uplifting living standards through strategic development projects. The construction of the Malaba Smart City, alongside the growth of Busia Town, Nangina in Funyula Sub-County, and the expansion of Alupe University, is a clear demonstration of this commitment. We applaud President William Ruto for recognizing Busia County as a key development hub and for delivering inclusive, people-centered development that promises prosperity, dignity, and improved livelihoods for our people.
It is with deep sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mzee Mark Osili Adung’o of Ng'elechomo, Chakol North Ward, Teso South Subcounty.
Mzee Osili was a highly respected elder and a distinguished public servant who served our nation with dedication and integrity. His exemplary career saw him serve as the Provincial Local Authority in charge of the Nyanza Region, retired as an Under Secretary in the former Ministry of Local Government, and later served as Chairperson of the defunct Malaba Town Council. His legacy of leadership, public administration, and selfless service will remain an enduring inspiration to many.
We stand with Mama Kevina Osili, and the entire family, during this difficult time of mourning.
May the Almighty grant the family strength, comfort, and peace as they come to terms with this great loss. May Mzee Osili’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his wisdom, service, and legacy continue to live on in our hearts and community.
Today, I had the honor of making a humble donation of a bull to the family of the late Bramwel Eshepet in Machakusi, Teso South Subcounty. This gesture is a small token of appreciation for his immense contribution to our community, particularly his dedication to education and the promotion of unity among our people.
As a devoted father to Engineer Vincent Sidai, he nurtured not only his family but also inspired many within the wider community through his values and example. As we mourn his passing, we stand with his family in prayer, asking God to grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Long ago, there existed a rat village whose greatest enemy was the cat. In their desperation, they held a meeting to find a solution to their constant threat. The largest rat, Ldondo, proposed that they tie a bell around the cat’s neck so they would hear it coming and escape. The idea sounded brilliant, and everyone applauded it. However, the smallest rat, Njiri, asked a simple but decisive question: who will catch the cat? Silence followed, because while the idea was attractive, no one was willing to face the danger required to make it work.
In the same way, the zoning idea is being promoted by those who fear facing the electorate. Like the rats applauding the bell, zoning sounds convenient and appealing, but it avoids the real challenge—accountability. Those pushing it lack the courage and energy to face the people directly because they have failed in their duty to serve the public. Zoning, therefore, becomes a shield for incompetence, not a solution to leadership failure.
Busia County cannot afford another cycle of missed opportunities. The next chapter demands clarity of vision, firm decisions, and leadership that puts public interest above politics. I am ready to play my part in shaping that next chapter by mobilizing ideas, people, and partnerships that can unlock Busia’s full potential. The journey to renewal begins now.
