Seeing some comparisons to Blair 97 based on this exit poll. Important to keep in mind that Blair came in on gradual increase of Labour numbers in elections. This is a FLIP landslide, if the exit poll holds. BIG.
Major danger tonight is that the unexpected result for Reform turns them into the story when in fact they may have won a minuscule number of seats. This is where media ethics come into play. Getting this wrong has real implications.
Profoundly impressed by the turnaround of the @UKLabour by @Keir_Starmer and his team. If the final results end up even close to the exit poll this is immense.
‼️🇬🇧 Exit poll for BBC, ITV & Sky News suggests Labour landslide with majority of 170 - in line with Tony Blair’s 179 majority in 1997. Less than predicted by latest MRP polls, which ranged from 231 to 290 Labour majority. But in line with Labour’s private expectations 1/2
France seems to be heading towards a hung parliament - but one where *no* majority exists in the Assembly to sustain *any* Govt. There is no precedent in recent French politics for such an impasse. For that you have to go back to the days of the 4th, not 5th, Republic. Thread

Le Pen is NOT Meloni. Her EU program
-Withhold France’s contribution to EU budget
-Toughen migration policy to conflict with ECHR
-Exit EU electricity market
-Oppose further EU enlargement (sorry Ukraine)
-Review all EU FTA's that don't “respect” France
-Limit free movement 1/
