“At around 4pm today (Saturday 23 May 2026), we were called to reports that a man had fallen from a building on Charles Street in the city centre.

It’s all very quiet at the park now. Two police vehicles remain, one as seen in the video and the other on Leicester Road. @MENnewsdesk

A woman in Steprite Shoes added: “The police were just everywhere. It was straight away. They were walking up the side of the park with guns pointing at him.”

I’m outside Mandley Park in Salford following reports of an incident.
The owner of Steprite Shoes, who is opposite the park, said: “There were loads of police, police with guns, helicopters. All over the park.”
