@holly1997yollh Not ortho, but as someone who’s now two years out from going unmatched, it does get better and you will find your place in medicine. Stick with those who also got bad news yesterday and whatever you wind up doing this year go in open minded and give it your all
@sasstronomical The residents are feeling the same way, as are the faculty of any program you want to end up at. Hopeful you find a supportive training home, sounds like the specialty could use you
@asmelillomd@l_deliberto Doc:
When states start to ban ORIFs, then you’ll understand our frustration.
A “6 week” abortion ban is only 4 weeks post-fertilization. There’s nothing flexible about that. Happy to share examples of women who’ve lost their lives or fertility, while we all lose our autonomy
@yeoldethotticus@MothNessMonster@KentuckyEntwife@BilgeEbiri Hi popping in to correct some well-intentioned misinformation. Ablation does not treat endometriosis, it treats abnormal bleeding from intrauterine conditions. Endometriosis is outside the uterus, and if your surgeon sees it during the salpingectomy they can burn it away :)
Life expectancy of US females is ~80 so I have about 12 more presidential elections and 50 World Series and at this point I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever get to see a female president or a padres championship. If democracy dies, can’t I at least enjoy America’s pastime?
I fear I’m gonna have to start rooting against Buffalo sports bc I don’t want to be the only team left standing with a 3-generation championship drought
I think it says a lot about the Padres and forgiveness that, even after having Dodgers fans throw things at them from the bleachers, they continue hitting balls into the bleachers for Dodgers fans to throw at them.
This is infuriating. Tua seemingly has no one in his corner who either understands or cares enough about the cumulative impact of head injuries to get him to retire. & this former player with a huge platform used it this week to detract from one of the only tools we have to help
Shoutout to every history teacher in the US who now has to lesson prep on the endless historical examples of using xenophobia to capitalize on economic insecurity at the detriment of immigrants/minorities
Answered the phone “Hi, this is Amy with surgery” for the very last time today. This time last year, I never could’ve imagined how bittersweet it feels. But next time I’m returning a page, I’ll be “Amy with GYN” and that is a dream come true.
