@RCNNRN I qualified ahead of schedule but made the decision to take a month or so off before I started. Our training had changed so much and we'd done paid placements through holidays so I was exhausted. Preceptorship took a while to get going too as educational nurses were in practice.
@STN_AlexDray Remember you can apply for things that are specifically marketed at NRN. You have loads to bring as a newly qualified, you're current knowledge is the most up to date it will ever be and you're enthusiastic.
Spinning in to my nursing career...
I've done it! All parts of my degree passed, now it's just a waiting game until the NMC demand money from me and I can start my career as a mental health nurse. @hss_bu@Nursing_BU#belongatbu
I have five, yes FIVE, copies of the book to give away to young scholars. If you want to enter please like & retweet… And if you know anyone who might find it useful please @ mention them below - https://t.co/0PebaLmNe2
@DrCRMatthews@AndrewesTanya I'm just starting to formulate my PhD proposal, whilst trying to finish off my mental health nursing degree (6 more weeks!). I would love any help possible!
@LucyyMacKinnon I'm a student mental health nurse, I've seen nurses detained because of their mental health, I can't help but wonder if at least some of that is due to the workplace culture and lack of support. We need to have more open conversations about our own wellbeing.
By luck rather than judgement I'm spending a week with the LEaD team from @Southern_NHSFT. It's great! Why aren't undergraduate nurses being told of all the places their nursing career could lead other than clinical practice? #nursingeducation#southernhealthfoundationtrust
Closing ceremony of @BCUR2021. It's been such an enlightening two days, but I absolutely deserve a glass of wine now!
Thanks to @PaulfrYorkshire and @jessicaedgejce for hosting a wonderful conference. #BCUR21
All set up for day 2 of @BCUR2021! One of the benefits of conferencing from home is that I don't have to drink my tea from a leaky cardboard cup.
I'm excited, and nervous, to be presenting my research on drama-based interventions and forensic mental health! #BCUR21#belongatbu
@igagumulinska I loved your talk @igagumulinska! As a mental health nurse we face similar issues in hospitals so was able to relate a lot of your research to my own area. Thanks for being so thought provoking!
Particularly enjoying this talk about Red Riding Hood and its narrative e of sex and violence. And a great question asked after by @igagumulinska about stranger danger. #BCUR21
#BCUR21 has kicked off. There's so many interesting research projects, I can't decide which ones to watch! I'm not presenting until tomorrow, which means I can definitely spend today not stressing about my own presentation!
Let us introduce you to Amy, another of SCVYS wonderful trustees who is not only passionate about Young People in her job, but also in her volunteering - Thank You! #VolunteersWeek#StaffsPeoplePower
It’s very fitting to use our 5000th tweet to say a big THANK YOU to our outgoing Chairman, Keith Walker, for his hard work and dedication to SCVYS over the last 9 years
Great to have 2 new trustees at last night's Board meeting. A very warm welcome to Julie + Simon. Adding in your skills, knowledge + experience mixed with a shared passion for seeing young people grow + thrive, will enable SCVYS to continue to aspire to excellence in all areas.
