@LaurenEmily0903 @NurseStandard The wage difference is of contention simply because of the expectations being pretty much a NA to work and do a RNs role. And being used as “cheap” alternative. The role is seen as interchangeable with these. Like we said just cannot be in charge of a ward.

@LaurenEmily0903 @NurseStandard Still the mantra when searching Nursing Associate is “bridging the gap between RN and HCA” this I’m sure you’ll agree is misleading. This is a good opportunity / step to go on and gain a full degree. It is a different route whilst being able to live / have a wage.

@LaurenEmily0903 @NurseStandard HEE and NMC left it open to interpretation of the individual trusts as to whether IV’s and CDs can be done by NAs. In my trust they literally do all medicines.

@LaurenEmily0903 @NurseStandard So I’m being told. The module NAs obviously didn’t do.. because they cannot be in charge, is the leadership module. That this is essentially what the course is on obviously at a higher level than 5.

Not “allowed” to do initial risk assessments… / care plans but you can do long as an RN is stood over you and counter signs.

@NurseStandard NA have the same amount of patients regardless. They do not have any more time to see those patients than an RN. It is literally a diff pathway to becoming a “nurse” it is looked down in the same as a SEN was, I am told.

@nuwandiss I don’t know much about this mental health condition but I have seen the prejudice, I have heard the unprofessional remarks and apathy around this from mental health professionals I have documented and escalated it also.
