I am happy to declare today as Nic Zapko day in Minnesota.
Nic is an American Sign Language interpreter who has been by my side the last year—ensuring Minnesotans have accurate and timely information on COVID-19 every step of the way. Thank you.
@alethiastjohn Yeah, I know most people don’t use cursive. I just know it took me five business days to learn cursive and six years to learn sign language so i feel like the tweet should’ve been “teach sign language period” rather than in exchange for learning penmanship haha
@gcudoh I’m a sign language interpreter, so I completely agree. I’m just pointing out how silly it is to compare learning asl to learning cursive. It’s like apples and oranges.
@ctnizzle2 Ok, fair. So any English conversation can be directly interpreted into sign language by a competent interpreter. So having one for each candidate would’ve provided real time access versus just the CC
One of my relatives made a Facebook account for my great grandpa and posts updates/birthday wishes pretending to be him. My great grandpa has been dead for 15 years.
