I believe no government anywhere is ever 100% clean or good, sure, but what I really hate is how the Indonesian government nowadays is just openly acting like:
‘Yeah, I’m an asshole. Always have been. What are you gonna do about it?'
“Indonesia kuat!”
“indonesia masih mampu menangani bencana ini”
“indonesia tidak butuh bantuan asing!”
meanwhile these flood victims stay on the tree for 3 days 3 nights during the flood waiting for help. LOOK AT THE CHILDREN AND THE BABY!!!
yaAllah its so heart-breaking😭💔
Prabowo seems unable to feel the suffering of people deeply enough to generate urgency or care. He appears to live inside a bubble, fed with stories by aides whose job seems to be protecting his pride than telling the truth.

📍 Central Aceh, Indonesia
For those who want a bit more context: parts of Sumatra, Indonesia have been hit by severe flooding and landslides, destroying homes, roads and bridges and basically leaving entire communities stranded without adequate resources. That’s why this reporter broke down.
And the reason Indonesians are angry is because the government still hasn’t declared this situation a national emergency, which means large scale state funding cannot be mobilised and responsibility is pushed onto already strained local governments.
But the craziest part is that on top of failing to properly assist civilians, the government is also rejecting aid and offers of help from overseas so how is any of this supposed to make sense?
They are not victims of war, but victims of a flood disaster.
So far, reports confirm 1,068 deaths and 190 people missing.
