I think that, rather than aim to announce a new leader at Conference, @Conservatives should use it as the platform to hear from the leadership contenders, and have some actual open debates.
Siobhan Baillie, Anthony Browne, Alex Chalk, Robin Walker, Penny Mordaunt, Virginia Crosbie, Anna Firth - all of them a loss to their constituencies and to Parliament, but I hope not to @conservatives.
