My mp Andrew Bridgen voted no to free meals for children in poverty.

He claims more money back on just rent alone per month than the average household in the uk earns per month.

But people backing the tories are worried about their tax being spent on starving children.

I don’t understand how there will be 322 MPs going to sleep tonight knowing that they voted against an extension of free school meals that would help children like this. It is inhumane, cruel and truly heartbreaking.

Maybe if mp’s didn’t claim back costs of food, travel, housing etc and they actually paid taxes like everyone else has to, then there might be enough money for the poorest children of our country to not starve.

MP’s get discounted alcohol + £1 meals while on a hefty salary but they didn’t want to feed starving school children on the poverty line because their parents need to ‘budget better’. The privilege of the rich is beyond measure at this point and they are happy to see the poor die
