We discussed my Headwaters Protection Act's role in enhancing watershed management partnerships.
Thanks for raising river awareness on the Hill, impacting our state and nationwide.
It’s an honor to have been named American Rivers’ River Champion of 2025 for my work to strengthen dam safety across the country, including the National Dam Safety Program Reauthorization Act of 2023, the National Dam Safety Program Amendment Act, and the Low-Head Dam Inventory Act - all three of which have been signed into law.
We depend on our rivers for so many important aspects of life, but they’re facing pollution and degradation throughout California.
I'm grateful for American Rivers' efforts in this fight to keep our rivers clean – and it's an honor to be recognized for my hard work alongside them through the River Champion award.
Congratulations to the @CityGrandRapids, Michigan for being a recipient of American Rivers' 2025 River Champion award! 👏The City of Grand Rapids and community organizations have taken significant strides to make their river a focal point. Thanks to them, the Grand River is cleaner and healthier than it was 20 years ago.

Clean water must be a bipartisan issue that unites us.
Pollution is not patriotic: every community deserves a healthy river and every family should have safe, clean water flowing from their kitchen faucet.

Whether you’re making coffee in the morning, brushing your teeth, or filling up your kids’ water bottles, we all want to be confident that the water flowing from our faucets is safe:

"This is dangerous and wasteful. The unplanned release of this much water could damage levees, putting communities at risk of flooding. It threatens farmers, risking the water they may need during the dry summer months.

Great to see this progress for our urban rivers!
Keep the positive momentum going by voting for candidates who protect rivers and invest in clean water in your own city, and nationwide.

A high-water mark eight feet above the previous record is insane. It is a discontinuity with all prior experience of the river.
We'll be seeing more and more of these unprecedented events.
The climate crisis is an era, not an issue.
This week, the Biden administration (@POTUS) announced a number of critical investments and projects to restore rivers and support clean water. From providing fish passage at outdated dams, to improving water infrastructure for Tribal Nations, to protecting the Colorado River from drought, these efforts will strengthen communities nationwide. We applaud the administration's leadership. No matter where you live, healthy rivers and clean water are essential to our health and our future. @whceq
