I suspect millions have the same view as me.
Supported the first lockdown in the face of an unknown virus, but vehemently oppose another shutdown now we know far more about how to deal with it.
We can't continue this cycle waiting for a vaccine that may never come.
There are hundreds of thousands of tests being processed every day (even with the current issues).
The tests aren't perfect, there are false positives. Even a tiny fraction of false positives would equal a huge % of reported cases.
Does Government know how many? Very important!
I supported the first lockdown at the time, it was an unknown virus then.
It's not now. Would it be just 'two weeks'? I doubt it. The consequences would be enormous, we're still reeling from the last one.
Please stop the threats & just focus on getting testing working today.
We live in a time when everybody wants an instant answer.
Unfortunately with this virus there's just so much we don't know.
My PhD is in immunology and our immune system's response to this virus has left me scratching my head at times.
I'm confident we're getting there though.
282 reported fatalities today vs 468, 345, 621, 843, 1115 on previous Saturdays.
Patients in hospital with coronavirus 11% down on last week.
On the whole, the data is really encouraging. It's taking time, but we're seeing consistent progress.
