@islandlove13@ThanksCancer I’ve been taking Letrozole for 7 months and haven’t had many side effects at all, other than an occasional hot flash. I was scared of the side effects too, but so far so good. I already had osteoporosis before starting it, so my doctor is keeping an eye on that.
@saramikaila Thank you! I think I’m getting closer. My bed is just up to high to get in and out of. I was able to nap on the couch propped up on my pregnancy pillow. Right now, my abdomen does look like I might be pregnant 😂 But at 56 there is no possibility of that, but I do like the pillow
@saramikaila I took Tamoxifen yrs ago, It caused issues with the thickening of the lining of my uterus & I ended up having a couple procedures for that. Taking Letrozole now & the side effects have been ok. I already had osteoporosis. If you go that route ask for a baseline bone density test
@ThanksCancer My 1st one years ago was traumatic! I had to push the button and have them stop due to my panic. I was more mentally prepared the 2nd and did ok. The 3rd involved a biopsy, which was way more traumatic than the first. I had a DMX in March, hopefully I am done with breast MRIs! 🤞
@saramikaila I feel you!! I had 4 after my DMX and the last one didn’t come out until 3 weeks. They are such a pain, but necessary for proper healing. Hang in there!
@Finestphemmy @ThanksCancer Yes I have CHEK2 mutation and breast cancer x2. My brother has had melanoma and prostate cancer. He also has the mutation. Also cousin with BC and CHEK2
@katievscancer@ThanksCancer Amy
Breast cancer 2010 and 2023, thyroid cancer 2019.
After being diagnosed 3x and also having the CHEK2 mutation I’m always wondering if a 4th may be coming someday
To those who won’t get a mammogram because it has a small dose of radiation & therefore it “causes breast cancer,”
do you fly on airplanes?
or exist on Earth for 7 weeks?
Because they have the same radiation dose as a MG, without the benefit of early breast cancer detection. 🎀
@katievscancer Surgeon follow up and Oncologist appointments this week. Hopefully getting results from last week’s bone biopsy. Wishing you the best with your treatment on Wednesday!
@TheCancerSutra I’m in a similar situation. PET scan and biopsy were ordered STAT by my oncologist May 24. Scan is today, biopsy not until July 3. The waiting is brutal!
@drawstickpeople@ThanksCancer@katievscancer Yes, this works! I was having an MRI guided biopsy and thought I was going to throw up in the machine while facedown. The nurse put an alcohol wipe under my nose and I felt better quickly.
CNN News Anchor Sara Sidner bravely shares her journey and feelings after being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She stresses the importance of annual mammograms and self-exams for early detection. 💙
