Wife to @mccrazy_1, homeschooling 4. unapologetic Christian. Into classical Christian education, sewing, weird art, abandoned buildings, frogs, bread, etc.
@thebedouin2 The only time the rings come off: when my hands are going into a bowl of raw meat or dough. With so many nooks and crannies, it just feels so unsanitary otherwise.
@bebookled Taking a budget starch/carb and spicing it up some can help with cost without being boring: homemade pesto bread instead of storebought rolls, Mexican rice instead of plain, etc.
@bebookled For events where the guest count can vary wildly, I like to cook foods that can easily freeze for later. Lasagnas or stew in winter, or taco meats are great for summer. We’ve done sandwich bar too and everyone loves it, and leftovers make great lunches for the week.
@bebookled For dessert, stick with handheld foods (cookies or bars), especially if lots of kids are there. This way they can grab and run, and you don’t have double the utensils.
Glad I got a 4-year degree in computer information systems so that now I can ask my husband to figure out how to get the Bluetooth thingy to do the thing because it’s not working and idk what this button even is 🤷♀️ @Mccrazy_1
@BeckyBeefBerky How it was explained to me: “Dinner” refers to the biggest or main meal of the day. Lunch is always a mid day meal, and supper is an often-simple evening meal. For most Americans, usually dinner = supper, but for instance if you do a big Sunday meal after church, that’s dinner.
@Lexy_Sauve ATK is pretty good about not too many specialty ingredients, with occasional exceptions (shallots, chipotle in adobo, instant tapioca come to mind). I love having freezer meal options that are way tastier than the “dump things in a freezer bag” internet recipes 😂
My 3yo, explaining why she won’t put her blanket on her bed while cleaning her room: “well, it sleeps there on the floor. That’s its spot. [me raising my eyebrow] … and also it’s nocturnal.”
Not normally a sharer of Wordle results but if today is going to start like this I’m going back to bed

I'm so over the weird athleisure clothing trend for little girls. So many sweatpants, sports bras, and platitudinal t-shirts! Where do I shop for cute, feminine, affordable play clothes for girls? @Lexy_Sauve @Stopnconsider or anyone else with ideas?
If anyone wants to send me the password for the secret source where owners of beautifully appointed English magazine homes are getting their vintage rugs, I’ll be waiting. Because wherever it is, it’s not FB marketplace.
@akerncirce I’ve always loved the imagery of the new Jerusalem in the OT prophets: a city of bustling trade and commerce. Unlike a garden, a paradise city suggests that the work of man is good — not just as a means to an end (work so you can rest), but inherently good, redeemed for paradise.
I dreamed that I got the Wordle on the first round, so obviously I had to try that first.

Don’t worry; I won’t be taking dream Amy’s Wordle advice again.
Compulsively refreshing the forecast like never before. I’m a realist about many things, but I turn into a little kid once that snowflake shows up. 🤷♀️ fellow southerners understand.
@VeiledGlory https://t.co/RGlfoCpvIG this is a fun one we all love that checks all the boxes (easy, healthy, yummy, kids like it). Double the peanut dressing though. 😁
