Young people are not the problem. They are among the most powerful builders of peace.
Today we launch #FaithInPeace, a youth-led initiative to empowereyoung people in Busoga to promote interfaith understanding, critical thinking, and resilience against violent extremism.
I spent a few days with refugees in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, hearing their stories and discussing the challenges in the settlements. Uganda hosts the highest number of refugees in Africa, so we should do more to provide them with a sense of home away from home. I am happy to support @OPMUganda in this endeavour.
Elections give us an opportunity to reimagine better futures for ourselves and generations to come. It shouldn't be a space that opens doors of hatred and hostility. Remember, a united, peaceful and prosperous #Uganda is our collective responsibility. Together, we build.

In #Uganda, cataracts cause 50% of blindness, impacting lives and livelihoods. I spent #MatryrsDay in Jinja where we’re offering free cataract surgeries to restore sight and hope to people in Eastern Uganda. I hope this gesture of love changes their loves for the better.
Speaking on behalf of AU-IFDF, I urged participants to recognize the power of robust religious leadership in advancing Africa’s SDGs. By candidly confronting our systemic challenges as faith actors, we can craft bold solutions to fast-track SDG success. #G20Interfaith
I was honored to join @UCC_Official as a special guest during the #UCCThanksgiving where @Archbp_COU gave a good sermon on trusting God. I reminded congregants to remain grateful and faithful even in times of adversity.
I thank @UCC_ED and his team for hosting us.
We must empower young people with skills to identify and counter extremist narratives effectively. I thank @IGAD_CEPCVE for establishing a platform that allows youth and influencers in the great lakes region to share and gain more skills in strategic communication in PCVE.
We must continue to encourage and support the development of spaces that allow young people of all backgrounds to thrive and to become peace and development assets in their communities. We are happy to be on that journey with our partners. Happy #InternationalYouthDay.
