It’s this- it would be rude to call actual poor counties poor, which is how Americans ended up ribbing the countries only slightly behind us in income & with comparable or better quality of life.
The "Europeans are poor" thing is a bit overwrought.
Yes, America is wealthier than nearly all European nations, at the median. But Europe is still much wealthier than ~everywhere else.
One of the ways I keep hinge entertaining for myself is by playing geoguesser with people’s pics of hikes, vacations, and the patios they’re drinking on.
SF is an inherently romantic city (visually, architecturally, restaurant-wise) which means it’s great to be in a relationship there but it blows a little extra if you’re single.
I think Americans misunderstand why AC is less common in Europe.
For a lot of Europeans, comfort is not always about controlling everything artificially. It is also about opening the windows, letting air circulate, using shutters, living with the seasons, and keeping life simple.
It is not necessarily backward. It is just a different relationship with comfort, energy, and everyday life.
