I’ll speak from the HR side.

If a male colleague slaps your bum in the office, don’t slap him back.

I know the anger in that moment can make you want to react immediately, but please don’t let your reaction become the story.

Because once you slap him, insult him, or cause a scene, some workplaces will suddenly turn it into both of them had an issue or they were lovers.

And that is how the main offence starts getting diluted.

What I would advise is simple:

Leave that space immediately if you can.
Write down exactly what happened.
Time.
Place.
Who was there.
What he said.
What you said.
Then report it formally to HR or management.

And please, don’t let anybody tell you, That’s how he plays.
A man touching your body without your consent at work is sexual harassment.

I’ve seen cases where one woman’s report exposed that the same person had been doing similar things to other women quietly.

So sometimes, speaking up is not just for you.
It may also protect the next woman.

Just last week I bought fuel at ₦1,250. Today, the same station is selling at ₦1,280.
What’s even more surprising is that many petrol stations are almost empty. You hardly see people buying fuel for their generators , even with the current power situation.

@sugabelly Most of them genuinely hate women. I had a sexual harassment case at work once and the MD was defending this manager who was harassing a young female staff. He told me they were both adults and also, what was she wearing when she was harassed. This is a Deacon in a big church
