Hi @Subaskaran_A Please review the TV content on @Swarnawahini
. It has become a largely useless channel. The teledramas aired from 7PM to 9PM have extremely cheap and poor storylines. It is sad to see a channel wasting public broadcast frequency on such low-quality nonsense.
2/2 lingering in air, soil & water for decades or centuries.Real environmental hypocrisy. Toxicity doesn't vanish when the fighting stops. (Why the double standard? Peacetime emissions get scrutiny; wartime ones get ignored.)#ClimateChange#WarPollution#Hypocrisy
1/2 The Western world constantly talk about global warming & air pollution... but stays silent on the massive pollution from wars they start or support.Wars spew huge CO₂ (e.g., Ukraine conflict already > Spain's annual emissions), toxic fumes, depleted uranium, burn pits
So, is Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa threatening that their #NPP government which came to office promising to repeal the draconian #OnlineSafetyAct will now use the same draconian #OSA to revoke the broadcasting licenses of those TV channels who do not agree with them on what the ‘truth’ is? Or will they use the irrelevant Rupavahini Act or ask TRCSL to cancel their frequencies? We have seen how media institutions were threatened in the past, licenses yanked and in the extreme case, journalists killed and other times tv stations fire bombed. Who can forget the attack and complete destruction of Sirasa studios in Depanama days before the brutal assassination of Lasantha… and so much more… which this is not the platform to list. I am not at all saying this threat is in any way similar, but there are ways to deal with media re the accuracy of their reportage instead of threatening them with license revocation. Surely, this government could not have turned 180 degrees in just one year? Or have they?!
Hi @elonmusk & @Starlink
Pls rethink about your collaboration with #dialog#lka. Dialog is a sinking ship. Its customers do not believe them anymore. Pls select something like @hutchsrilanka instead of.
