Salman F. Rahman, the man who allegedly siphoned off billions of dollars from Bangladesh while serving as the private industry and investment adviser-to the ousted Bangladeshi prime minister, was arrested by security forces while attempting to flee the country.
To hide himself, he shaved his full beard and disguised himself as a boatman.

Baby Reem is the sole survivor of a deadly Israeli airstrike on the Abu Hayya family home in #Gaza, that claimed the lives of 11 Palestinian civilians, including children.
The number of children in Gaza without surviving family members arriving for medical care is so high that a new acronym has been coined to identify them – “WCNSF” (Wounded Child No Surviving Family).
The General Secretary of the UK Awami, League, Syed Farouq, who organised the rally (see below) was kind enough to agree to be interviewed. He blamed all the violence on the opposition parties, and when I tried to ask him about the killings by Bangladesh law enforcement authorities of at least 200 students/protestors/onlookers, well, he walked away ….
Nazmul, a student and part-time health worker at a private hospital in Dhaka, was on his way to work when BGB shot him to death without provocation, in front of his mother.
Housewife Simu was at home. After putting her child to sleep, she went to the balcony and was shot. A significant number of children and women were shot inside their homes, illustrating how indiscriminately Hasina's armed forces fired bullets, killing people and enjoying impunity.
Most of the victims were shot in the head. Hasina deployed snipers to manage the protest. Here is one victim who sustained a headshot. https://t.co/GhCY0btv3s
#Bangladesh: let nobody be fooled.
This is nothing but an act of arbitrary detention - and sorry let’s be real - a high risk of torture & persecution.
Repression continues.
We need all that can to speak out.

A student leader who was arrested in the quota movement was brought to court after being remanded and his mother encouraging him.
This is not a quota movement anymore, this movement is becoming a free Dictatorial regime. Our parents are with us.#StepDownHasina#Bangladesh
Hasina launched a violent crackdown against Bangladeshi citizens by deploying snipers in buildings to target protesters. A video from July 26th in Bonosree, Dhaka, shows two protesters being shot by RAB snipers.
At least three children were shot by Hasina's forces during a curfew while they were inside their home. This is a heinous crime. The world has turned a blind eye to this serious human rights violation in Bangladesh. #FIDH
Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the quota reform movement, was blindfolded and abducted last week. For two days, he was subjected to physical and mental torture. The mastermind behind Nahid's ordeal is Brigadier General Md. Nishatul Islam Khan, an officer of the 28th Long Course of the Bangladesh Army, who is currently serving as the Director of the Internal Affairs Bureau (IAB) at the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI). Sources suggest he personally beat Nahid with sticks and rollers in various parts of his body. In the recent past, the same officer has been involved in torturing politicians, journalists, rights activists, and anyone critical of the regime, according to DGFI sources.
The duty of an officer with the rank of Brigadier General in the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence should not involve beating or abducting any citizen to intimidate them. Such behavior violates human rights and contradicts the principles of democracy.
Helicopter pilot for God's chosen lunatics said when he arrived at the rave his training kicked and he started targeting civilians as Israelis are trained to do. When asked if he realized they were Israeli civilians he replied that's OK it will all be blamed on Hamas.
