#boom plot job landed!
It’s another cracking Saturday as we see out Derby day with a 17/2 winner
5.55 Epsom SONDAD 17/2 1pt win
SONDAD done us a turn a couple of times last year, including in this race. Given that he has, historically, improved a bundle from 1st start to the next and was a clear non trier last time out at York, I should imagine that this was an early season target for a while. Drawn terribly at York, he was ridden as no more than a piece of work and made sure to not go close by Paul Mullrennan. Beating everything that raced on his side of the course, he was never out of hands and heels riding. He's higher today, than for his win in this last year, but on the same mark as when a close 2nd in the Ayr Silver Cup at the end of the season. The forecast rain wont be any bother either.

#boom we said last time out he was unlucky and a horse to follow!
BLUES AND ROYALS GETS UP ON THE LINE, ADVISED AT 13/2
4.10 Musselburgh BLUES AND ROYALS 13/2 1pt win
BLUES & ROYALS was a bit unlucky at Sandown last time out, for all he'd have not won, and looks a horse that is well capable of improving throughout the season. Whether that be on the all weather or not, without a win on grass, I don't yet know but he went very close at this course a couple of starts ago and didn't seem to mind running on turf then. This is a deep enough race but I do feel this fav is shorter than he should be and is there to be beaten.

#boom after a day off with no tips yesterday, were straight back in the winners today!
The NB wins with ease!
3.21 Hamilton PEARL EYE 16/5 1pt win
PEARL EYE hasn't been with the yard too long, having only lasted 4 runs after switching from Darryl Holland to Gaye Kellaway. However, he's shown real promise for this yard on ground that may have been too quick and without his usual headgear. With rain forecast all day long at Hamilton, and more on Thursday too, it almost certainly wont be a quick surface they're racing on and this horse is well suited by some give in the ground. What is also promising is that Jim Goldie has fitted the horse back in the cheek pieces he's worn for 4 of his 5 turf wins. The horse is running off a mark that is 12lb lower than for his last win, in March last year, and Paul Mullrennan is booked for his first ride on this hold up horse.

#wallop good day again!
Only two tips from us and ROCK OPERA absolutely hoses up, advised at 6/1
3.48 Pontefract ROCK OPERA 6/1 1pt win
ROCK OPERA hasn't won in a long time, but has been keeping much better company than this and Pontefract might be a course that see's him to best effect. He's got a rubbish draw, but he'll be held up last anyway and the way he's been running lately suggests that his turn isn't too far away.

GALLANT LION LANDS MEMBERS A TIDY GAMBLE TO GO WITH MIDNIGHT LIR
3.10 Carlisle MIDNIGHT LIR 10/1 0.75pt ew
3.20 Brighton GALLANT LION 7/1 0.75pt ew
0.5pt Each Way Double
MIDNIGHT LIR is exceptionally well handicapped if he can come back to anywhere near his best, but has clearly had his fair share of issues over the last couple of years. Once quite hardy, he's struggled to get to the racetrack for the last two seasons and his form has, understandably been poor. However, he's managed to put two runs together, provided he runs, for the first time in a year and hopefully his issues are behind him. Racing off a mark of 61, he's 22lb lower than his last winning mark and 25lb lower than his peak. Michael Dods, whose horse are in great form, has applied the first time blinkers for this lad and has a great record with the headgear first time. A stiff 5f, which Carlisle is, is perfect and his draw in stall 2 ought to be ideal on quick ground.
GALLANT LION has been awful for a while, but he did land a huge gamble on the 30th May last year and has now dropped to a mark that is lower than for that win. A course winner too, Ian Williams has booked Jason Watson (who has won on him before) for the ride. Theres a lot to take on trust, and this horse is forecast to open up as the 20/1 rank outsider in this race, but his run over a mile last time out was clearly used for fitness as he'd not be fast enough for a mile in the back of a horse box. Ian's horses are in good form and this is his only runner at the track today. Jason Watson is riding superbly right now.

#wallop great start to the day, two superb runs
Another Abbot wins as expected, Nap to run tonight for a double
4.23 Yarmouth ANOTHER ABBOT 7/2 1pt win NB
I'm a bit worried about the fact that the last couple of days we've seen Haggas horses beat at some very short odds, including at 1/5. However, he's had 3 winners in the last week so I'm hoping its just a case of those not being good enough and no issue with the yard. If they are fine, then ANOTHER ABBOT should be the horse that these all need to beat. He made a pleasing return to racing this year, over an inadequate trip at Ascot and racing on the worst of the ground. He did, however, fare best of those horses that raced on the slowest part of the track and was never stronger than at the line. This step up to 6f here will be much more suitable and this course will be no issue either. He's still 6lb above his last winning mark, but at the age of 4, with only 11 turf runs to his name (2 wins and 3 places) he's still open to no end of improvement. They'll also be running into a strong headwind at Yarmouth, which should play into the hands of Marquand on this hold up horse.

#bosh double up! Two from two in the Trixie, one to run for a tidy payout
MASTER VINTNER runs a blinder, tipped at 14/1
5.20 Beverley SOUTH SHORE 7/1 1pt win
8.30 Kempton MASTER VINTNER 14/1 1pt win 4 places
9.00 Kempton ?????? 14/1 1pt win
0.25pt Each Way Trixie
SOUTH SHORE went into my tracker last season, after a very unlucky run over this C&D in July. However, I never found a race that I felt I was able to back him in and he didn't get the win he looked likely to achieve either. After three fair runs this year, on the all weather, he's back to the scene of that unlucky loss and back in his usual hood (having raced without it last time). His mark of 56, is 6lb lower than for that loss and the make up of this race (loads of pace in it) ought to suit perfectly for a horse that likes to come from behind. William Pyle is a good booking for this yard, with a good strike rate whenever they pair.
MASTER VINTNER is being trained for a run at Royal Ascot, but may need a win in him if he is to get there. To be honest, the quick ground at Ascot is unlikely to suit this lad anyway but, ironically, the heatwave were having now will here. When it's baking hot the all weather tracks tend to ride deep because the wax in the polytrack starts to melt and it more resembles slow ground on the turf. He came over here with an interesting profile, having raced only once in Ireland when 3rd to a Group 1 winner who is rated 110+. He duly won both of his first two starts for the yard, but it was all too much too soon when pitched into the deep end in the November handicap at Doncaster. He's had a prep run this year, for which he was backed off the boards but the quick ground wouldn't have suited and he looked in desperate need of the run, having loomed up to win at the 2f pole. A winner on this surface, he's also reunited with Rossa Ryan (2 from 2 on him) and is Ralph Becketts only runner on the card. As a forward going horse, he suit also be well positioned behind front runner Son Of Man
#wallop it’s a good start to another day
LADY YOUMZAIN defies a big draw bias to run a blinder at 14/1
2.55 Haydock LADY YOUMZAIN 14/1 0.75pt ew
Haydock took some getting on soft heavy ground this afternoon and whilst it will be drying all the time, it's going to be riding real dead and you will need to get home. Those at the top of the market are there because of their ratings, which is fine, but this might not be about the best horse in the race and may well come down to the horse best at dealing with conditions. A soft ground winner on debut, albeit a tin pot race, LADY YOUMZAIN is (obviously) by Hello Youmzain who had one of his best days at this track, winning the Haydock Sprint on deep ground. She's bred to thrive in the mud and theres a bit of stamina in the Dam side too, suggesting she might stay. On all form and official ratings she's right up against it, I just think she'll handle this test better than many and, hope, she wont be far away.

#boom double up again. The 2nd of the week!
Two tips, two winners
4.25 Musselburgh BELLARCHI 4/1 1pt win NB
5.13 Haydock TRILBY 9/4 1pt win NAP
0.5pt Win Double
Having won two on the bounce and now needing a career best, it would be fair to assume that BELLARCHI would be up against it here, off top weight. However, he's clearly in fine form right now and his 8th at Chester last time out can easily be forgiven. Drawn terribly in stall 11, of 13, he was held up out the back and fared no chance. However, whilst you couldn't say he would have won, he was certainly an unlucky loser on that day. Turning in for home in near last place, he passed horses for fun under hands and heels riding, before traffic stopped his run and he was forced to sit and suffer. He's down markedly in class here and returned to the track that he recorded back to back wins at, the two races prior to Chester. From my reckoning, there are at least 3 front runners in this and whilst this is often a front runners track, he should be well suited, being held up just off the pace from stall 1.
TRILBY has been hammered in the betting the last few starts and not really getting his races run to suit. He needs a fast run race, because he likes to be held up and, whilst this is a small field of only 6 runners, there are 3 in here who have made the running in the past before. With the assumption that, at least, two of them will try the same again, he might finally get his true run race and given his course record is strong, 8 runs 3 wins and 3 places, we know that he's at his best here too. The soft ground will be fine, he's running off a mark that is 7lb lower than for his last win, and PJ McDonald, who has won on him before, takes the ride. Sam England's horses are flying with, at the time of typing, 3 wins from his last 4 runners. This the yards only runner on the card.

#BOOM DOUBLE UP TO START THE WEEK!
100/1 Treble not far off too!
3.10 Redcar FANCIULLA DEL WEST 11/2 🥈
3.40 Redcar GLORY HYDE 7/2 NB🥇
5.40 Windsor REDORANGE 5/2 NAP 🥇
Win Trixie
GLORY HYDE was sent off a warm order favourite last time out, having won the time before, and was very good value for that support too. Having finished 5th, he was never out of a hands and heels ride that day and denied a run the entire straight, in my opinion he's have won with ease. There's more weight on his shoulders today, but that's because this is a weaker race and his mark, which remains unaltered, is clearly one that he's capable of winning off. The trip is no issue and, having tried their best to sort the track bias at Redcar out, I hope the draw isn't a problem either. Quick turnaround.
Another horse that has a quick turnaround isREDORANGE, who would have gone into many trackers last week when desperately unlucky at York. Whether he's have won or not, is open to debate, because the winner looks a group horse, but he'd have certainly been close. Its a quick reappearance, but he must have come out of the race well and the Clive Cox stable are in fine form too. Stall 1 ought to be perfect to sit just behind the pace set by Saffie Osborne on last years winner of this race, Regal Envoy.

LETSBEFRANK WINS AS EXPECTED, ADVISED AT 7/2
5.15 Hamilton REIGNING PROFIT 7/1 1pt win NAP
6.45 Hamilton LETS BE FRANK 7/2 1pt win NB
0.5pt Each Way Double
REIGNING PROFIT has been unlucky on all 4 of his starts this year, but no more so than in his 2 most recent. Given his run style, and a biggish field here, there is every chance that the same scenario will play out again, but he could well have won both of his last two starts with a clear run and, granted some luck in running today, he will hopefully make amends. A C&D winner, who is rated 5lb lower than his last winning mark, he should be suited by the likely fast pace on offer here and, should the gaps come, he shouldn't be far away.
Having won the Sunday Series bonus 2 years ago (horse with a perfect record in this series gets a serious payday), it would be no shock if LETS BE FRANK has been prepped for another crack at it. He got off to great start at Musselburgh last time out, winning of a mark that was (with the jockey claim) 12lb lower than for his series win. He's 4lb higher here, which is still 8lb lower, and given he managed to defy a huge pace bias in that Musselburgh race, he looks very well treated to go in again

#wallop full house for another good Saturday!
3.45 Newbury SAHARA KING 5/1 NAP
4.20 Newbury PUROSANGUE 11/1
5.00 Newbury EBTS GUARD 14/1
Each Way Trixie
We backed last years winner of this race, Sadaad from the Roger Varian yard and his runner in this (Al Azd) is of obvious interest here given the yards good record in the race. However, that winner had his prep for this race, over this C&D and SAHARA KING was a huge eyecatcher in that very same race this time around. Held up in rear, in a race that went to those prominently ridden, he flew home late on to only be beaten a length and the form of the race is superb. The winner came out nect time out and won the Derby Trial at Lingfield last weekend. The 2nd filled the same spot on listed company too. The selection has run again since, again faring well in a falsly run race, and this track ought to suit a lot better than Newmarket.
There are loads in this race that have a right chance but I'm adamant that PUROSANGUE is better than a handicapper, he was only denied by a photo in Group 3 company a couple of years ago. All his form has been with Andrew Balding but he's since switched to sprint king Robert Cowell in a bid to unleash his potential. That move seemed to work the oracle with JAKAJARO, who is finally looking like the group class sprinter he's always had the potential to be, and I'm hoping its the same here. Purosangue was good on debut for the yard, flying home late from an impossible position and looks sure to improve plenty for that run. The recent rain we've had, albeit it wont be soft, would have only helped his claim and he's a rare enough runner at Newbury for Robert Cowell. I'm not sure on his draw in stall 1, but the previous two winners of this were drawn high.
Last of the trio is EBTS GAURD who was desperately unlucky last time out, in the Spring Cup. He improved beyond all recognition last year, winning that same Spring Cup race at the start of the year off a mark of 92 and finishing the year rated 106 after a huge run in the Balmoral at Ascot on Champions day. He's begun the season on a very lofty mark but, much like Cerulean Bay on Thursday, has showed no signs of that being beyond him based on debut. Never off the bridle last time out, he finished hands and heels and was travelling all over those in front of him. He's be ridden more forward, as is his usual style, and in weaker race he must have a good chance of hitting the frame at the very worst
