Had a call with a college friend this morning.
Product Manager. US company. Running India operations. We both discussed AI and impact, he said:
"Yaar, the pressure is insane right now. Same projects, but timelines cut from 3 months to 6 weeks. Budgets were slashed 20%. And the leadership just assumes AI will cover the gap."
The problem?
Their company never invested in upskilling.
So what's actually happening on the ground, it seems people are working weekends. burning out. Covering the gap with hours instead of tools.
AI didn't create the pressure. Unpreparedness did.
The companies that will win the next 5 years are not the ones that bought the most AI tools. They're the ones who spent 2025 and 2026 making sure their people actually knew how to use them.
Upskill before you pick up the project. Not during. Not after. The cost of being unprepared is now measured in weekends.

Deel has raised $300M at a $17.3B valuation
We started about 6 years ago, struggling to even make $10K.
I've never shared this before because of how embarrassing our start was.
The story of how we went from $1K to $1B and the advice I'd give to my younger self:
As in many countries,
The story of Nepal is not any different.
I will give you a simple summary.
The govt was corrupt, the politicians were stealing money, politicians kids were in social media mocking/taunting the masses, too many people were hungry and angry,
Gen Z youths started talking on social media, then the Government bans social media, and these Gen Z youths hit the streets protesting.
At first protests were peaceful,
Then the govt as usual sent in police,
Police got there shot at these Gen Z kids.
Police killed 19 of them and injured almost 350 others- according to govt’s own data.
The shooting and killing by police turned the protests into violence and radicalised the protesters. These young Gen Z protesters then invaded the homes of the politicians burning it down, took over the govt broadcasting stations, burnt down the parliament, chased the politicians into the river and they essentially went all out against the politicians and govt officials who gave the order for the police to kill them. The prime minister of Nepal has resigned since these escalations started and the protests got worse.
Before some lunatic nigerian influencers and govt-paid lobotomised animals here online twist the Nepal story or tell you a half truth suggesting these young GenZ Nepalese citizens are at fault, please you need to be aware of the full story.
If the govt didn’t ban social media,
If the police didn’t kill and injure protesters,
Nepal won’t be burnt down today by those angry upset hurting youths in Nepal.
Poland just became a $1 trillion economy without open borders, without giving up religion, and without tearing down its traditions.
