@audrow I think ROS is a good "nice to have" but isn't the primary reason people get hired in robotics. In my case interviewers were mostly interested in my experience applying ML/AI to robotics problems

@ramez I think for any specific task, a humanoid robot is suboptimal. However, if you're looking to develop a generalist robot that can perform many tasks, a humanoid is the best choice.

@WilliamWimley My experience is limited to machine learning and robotics. In my research I almost exclusively read preprints on @arxiv. It's often much quicker than waiting for a final version to be published and speeds up my own research.
