On Sunday, July 19, Media Lab Prof. Hugh Herr and Dr. @anarajcevic, a research scientist in the Biomechatronics group, join Prof. @JannaLevin for “Body Alchemy” at @pioneerworks_. Together, they’ll explore what happens when the human brain is wired to operate an entirely different anatomy — looking past what our bodies were born to do and toward the alchemy of what we might choose to become. This in-person event is free with registration; seating is limited.

ART Proxima: an alliance of art & science
A collective of new media artists and scientists co-creating at the fusion of research, technology, and creativity.
An initiative of MATTER, co-curated by Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker & Solimán López, it premiered at XPANSE 2024.
Artists & scientists in the desert? The next theme for XPANSE 2025...
In partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi, ART Proxima's new media artists joined NYU Abu Dhabi's desert scholars for the “XPANSE in the Desert” Workshop, a deep dive into the desert’s complexities as a living system.
Dr Rajčević's work draws inspiration from the animal world to investigate the powerful possibilities of what the human being could become. How do we want to evolve? What if we could remake our bodies from scratch? #Ecsite2024
As we are selecting the programme for #Ecsite2025, how can we forget the outstanding keynote of Hugh Herr & Ana Rajcevic from #Ecsite2024 in Ljubljana.
Our first keynote speakers at #Ecsite2024 were Hugh Herr and Ana Rajcevic.
Ana and Hugh welcomed us to the age of body alchemy, where the visionary creations of artists and the pioneering innovations of scientists converge to redefine what it means to be human.

Some nice shots from the busy exhibition opening day at Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab @dieangewandte in Vienna in May, where I've met some lovely humans resulting in exhilarating & fruitful talks about the future of the body, interspecies creation and hybrid embodiments🦾

@DHLexpress I have wrote you several emails about my lost package and got no reply. It was delivered to someone that doesn’t exist in my area and no dhl-note was left either! I need this sorted ASAP
This #robot work-in-progress “body-sculpture” piece I created in 2017, and is now presented at @kapelicagallery together with 3 AI-robotic prosthesis done in collaboration with @MarcoDonnarumma & Neurorobotics Research Lab in Berlin. The exhibition is on until 25th of June. <3
The biometric 3D printed face-masks designed by @anarajcevic for Overflow take inspiration from facial recognition technology and were made by scanning the dancers’ faces to create bespoke models for each one of them.
Final prep underway for tomorrow's premiere @Sadlers_Wells !
