@pritkelewat I’m not surprised that it’s taken such a strong turn, because AI tells you exactly what you want to hear, and in such a pressing climate, people would turn to that to soothe themselves. But of course, AI hallucinates; and those people end up being delusional themselves.

@pritkelewat I think you might enjoy The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. It’s a dystopian scifi about a world that’s entirely generated by an AI “God”, and where death has ceased to exist. Humanity becomes spectacle. The way people treat this AI is reminiscent of today, too.

@pritkelewat I think AI psychosis (like in the article you sent) stems from humanity’s need to find a definitive God or desire to become that God. Economic decline, stressful news every day, etc = religion as we know it isn’t enough of an “opiate” anymore/can’t numb our struggles the same.
