Over time, these practices strengthen groundwater sustainability, reduce climate risks, and create livelihoods. As farmers adopt efficient irrigation, communities benefit—through improved food security, stable incomes, and greater preparedness for an uncertain climate future.

To strengthen on-farm water management, drip and mini-sprinkler systems have been introduced across villages in Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Patan, Kutch, and Mehsana, supporting farmers in using water more efficiently and sustainably.

Micro-irrigation is more than a farming practice—it is a pathway to resilient rural communities. By delivering water efficiently to crops, drip and mini-sprinkler systems help farmers conserve water, reduce cultivation costs, and improve productivity.

Their handcrafted frames were later showcased at a Diwali exhibition-cum-sale at nearby company of Anjar, where they received an encouraging response and repeat orders. This journey shows how shared learning can spark individual leadership

In Chandrani village of Anjar Taluka, a 15-days mud work training brought together more than 30 women from ANARDE’S Self help groups.

Among them were four women who would go on to turn learning into livelihood.

During the training, the women learned soil preparation, frame making, and traditional mud work designs using varied colour combinations.

As Monsoon 2026 approaches, we’re gearing up to begin water conservation work across villages in Gujarat—implementing need-based structures to capture rain, recharge groundwater, and strengthen soil moisture.

In 2022, the Rampar Pond in Anjar, Kutch was at a breaking point.

Seawater intrusion and a failing bund meant freshwater lasted only two months, threatening the village's livestock and agriculture.

In Washere village, Pune (Maharashtra), ANARDE Foundation has constructed an Earthen Nala Bund to enhance groundwater recharge, reduce soil erosion, and improve water availability for farming and daily needs—strengthening local water security.
