It is easier from a resident standpoint when the resident is more senior, but the faculty might need to initiate more that discussion with junior residents, especially if they don't feel as comfortable calling the attending the night before.

Being early and inexperienced still, I find it extremely useful to prepare with watching a lot of operative videos before a case. It is great to have many ways to do something and it helps with bailout options.

I have 4 types of reading as I move through residency. 1 - Textbook for reference, 2 - Operative studying for daily patient cases, 3 - Research specialized reading for my intended subspecialty, 4 - Specific exam reading when I have to take an exam

Start with book knowledge and continue with developing test taking skills and thinking as the question writer. That will get you to the excellent score!

Ideally, sessions can include different scenarios for junior and senior residents, but they should also allow for peer-to-peer teaching between residents. @ECUSurgery
