An example of the sort of nonsense that's published (& then uncritically summarized by reporters) once "good teaching" is simply assumed to mean high test scores. Challenge that dubious premise and the whole edifice - e.g., that high-quality instruction is unpleasant - collapses:
If you never talk to Hashem outside of Shul, it is difficult to connect with Him in Shul. If you never talk to Him without a siddur, it is very hard to feel like you are talking to Him through the siddur.
Ask, thank, protest, just talk to Him in your own words. He is listening.
