ANCA-WR delegation stood in the halls of California's State Capitol to witness a historic milestone: the reestablishment of the California State Assembly's Select Committee on California and Armenia Mutual Trade, Art and Cultural Exchange.
With over one million Armenian Americans calling California home, this committee gives our community an institutional voice in shaping policy that matters: trade and economic partnership, education and cultural exchange, and principled advocacy for Armenian rights and dignity.
If you ever feel down about the state of our country, just talk to young people.
I had the pleasure of meeting with @ANCA_WR interns to discuss how to turn their passion into action and change. Our youth are inspirational, and determined to make a positive difference.
@LENNAHOVANESSI joined ANCA interns for an engaging conversation on public service, resilience, and making an impact through advocacy.
The visit also gave interns a chance to step into the campaign world by creating and presenting mock pitches, while receiving thoughtful feedback from Lenna.
It was a meaningful opportunity to build confidence, sharpen their ideas, and reflect on the role young Armenian-Americans can play in shaping their communities.
Was asked to go to Azerbaijan for a lecture . I declined (they yuugely upped their offer, not understanding my ethics, thinking it would make a difference).
I will not set foot in Azerbaijan with Reuben Vardanyan jailed there.
"Marriott had no business profiting from the suffering of Artsakh's ethnically cleansed Armenians." — @ANCA_DC Executive Director @HamparianAram , after Marriott dropped its controversial Artsakh tour package following a global ANCA-led campaign.

ANCA-WR interns met with Assemblymember John Harabedian for an inspiring conversation on Armenian American advocacy, perseverance, and civic engagement.
From sharing his journey into public office to encouraging the next generation of leaders, Assemblymember Harabedian highlighted the importance of getting involved and making our voices heard.
ANCA interns visited Asbarez and Interns spoke with Editor-in-Chief Ara Khatchatourian about the role of journalism in advocacy, the importance of Armenian representation in the media and the power of writing to educate the public and bring attention to issues affecting our community. The visit left them with a deeper understanding of impactful storytelling and a greater drive to continue using their voices for justice.
ANCA-WR Summer Interns had the opportunity to meet with Assemblymember @AsmNickSchultz, gaining a firsthand look at how meaningful change is achieved through public service and advocacy.
Through the discussion, interns gained a deeper understanding of the legislative process while highlighting the importance of civic engagement and the next generation's role in advancing Armenian American advocacy.
ANCA-WR Summer 2026 interns brought their voice to @RepJudyChu’s office this week — advocating for the Armenian American community and learning firsthand what grassroots advocacy looks like in action. This is how the next generation of leaders is built.
ANCA-WR Summer Interns joined the campers of Week D up at AYF Camp, ensuring that our next generation of advocates understand the importance of their community involvement.
Through workshops, simulations, and open discussion, interns enabled campers to understand their role within the Diaspora through a more intimate lens.

Join us as we celebrate the 2026 ANCA Western Region Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, October 11, 2026 at the Taglyan Complex!
An evening dedicated to honoring our community's leaders, advocates, and changemakers who continue to strengthen the Armenian Cause.
More details to come — mark your calendars and stay tuned!
TX-28 deserves better than a Congressman bought and paid for by Baku. @RepCuellar has taken $600,000+ from Azerbaijani interests to work against Armenian Christians facing ongoing persecution.
South Texas voters: it's time for new leadership.
Go @JudgeTano!
Henry Cuellar (D-Azerbaijan)
It's time for the voters of South Texas to take the 28th Congressional District back from Azerbaijan, a genocidal foreign dictatorship that bribed @RepCuellar ($600,000+) to rig US policy against persecuted Armenian Christians.
Go @JudgeTano!
Selling F-35s to a regime that occupies Cyprus, threatens Greece, and buys Russian air defense systems is a threat to U.S. and allied security.
We fully support @repdinatitus and @RepChrisPappas's Joint Resolution of Disapproval and urge @RepJeffries and @SteveScalise to act now.
Congress banned F-35 sales to Turkey for several reasons: the S-400s, the illegal occupation of Cyprus, and the threats to Greece, to name a few. @POTUS cannot just wave these actions away with a handshake in Ankara.
I am urging @RepJeffries and @SteveScalise to introduce a Joint Resolution of Disapproval to prevent this Administration from illegally selling F-35s to Turkey.
ANCA-WR and @HyeVotes were honored to host Congresswoman @LuzRivas at the 49th Navasartian Games & Festival, where she connected with community members and reaffirmed her partnership with the Armenian-American community on the issues we care about most.

ANCA-WR welcomes the powerful statement of Los Angeles City Councilmember @adrin_nazarian condemning Turkey's political installation at Grand Park — erected in the shadow of City Hall during the FIFA World Cup.
As CM Nazarian made clear: "Türkiye is Here? No. The City of Los Angeles is here, and we extend no welcome to Genocide deniers or advocates of lawless aggression."
Turkey's presence at Grand Park is not a cultural celebration — it is a propaganda operation by a government that continues to deny the Armenian Genocide, occupy Artsakh, and illegally detain Armenian prisoners of war.
ANCA NorCal Advocates pushed Armenian-America priorities with Rep. Jimmy Panetta this week in a wide-ranging conversation on the challenges Armenians continue to face.
The discussion covered the full landscape from the Armenian POWs still held in Azerbaijani captivity, to Azerbaijani forces occupying sovereign Armenian territory, to the false threats Baku continues to manufacture against Armenia in the eyes of the West. Our advocates reviewed key legislation and amendments Rep. Panetta can support to make a real difference, including HR 6840 calling for the return of our POWs, the Armenia security Act, and enforcement of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act to hold Azerbaijan accountable for its genocidal policies.
This week, our interns had the opportunity to sit down with ANCA Endowment Fund Chair and longtime ANCA Board Chairman @raffihamparian for an in-depth conversation on the strategic vision shaping the future of Armenian American advocacy.
Raffi shared where the ANCA is headed, what it will take to get there, and why — now more than ever — hope and sustained engagement in Armenian organized life are not just important, but essential.
Our interns are learning that advocacy isn’t just about the moment. It’s about building something that lasts.
