Congratulations to Ashton Cohan, a talented young clarinet player in my district who has just been chosen to be in the prestigious and highly selective NYO2, a Carnegie Hall national youth ensemble!
Ashton, you represent the very best of CA-30's creativeness. You’ve made your community proud and I can’t wait to see where your musical talents take you next.
Last time, we were one vote short. Today, we passed it. The House just voted to rein in Trump's war with Iran.
This is a huge victory for House Democrats👇
Taxpayer funding for Trump’s ballroom? Dead.
And that’s not even the biggest fight this week.
Today we vote on a war powers resolution to rein in his war with Iran. Here’s where things stand 👇
Trump is letting his weird hatred of windmills get in the way of creating enough renewable energy to affordably power 20 million American homes.
He’s standing in the way of lower prices and clean air.
I’m proud to cosponsor the Universal School Meals Program Act to end child hunger as we know it. It will ensure that all K-12 students have access to 3 square meals a day so they can learn and play without worrying about getting enough to eat.
700,000 more children will go hungry – just so that Congressional Republicans can give more tax breaks to billionaires.
I’m not just working to reverse these consequences. I’m building a better future for our children. ⬇️

Great to see this. I raised the alarm early on last year about Trump’s move to gut the financial resources used to train the professionals who take care of us when we’re sick.
We need nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and California is suing the Trump Administration to make sure our healthcare heroes get the support they need to complete their education.
Happy Pride Month!
This month, I’m joyously celebrating the rich diversity and accomplishments of the LGBTQ community in Los Angeles, and recommitting to the struggle for equal rights and dignity for all.
I’ve fought for clean drinking water my entire career because families deserve peace of mind when they turn on the tap.
What does @SecKennedy have to say about this assault on public health?
Breaking news: The EPA proposed repealing limits on four types of “forever chemicals” in drinking water.
The proposal would end the Biden-era restrictions on four PFAS compounds and give utilities more time to comply with limits on two others. https://t.co/5GMu4BxYOx
The brave firefighters of Fire Station 8 risk their lives every day, while not knowing whether or not their firehouse will be safe in an earthquake.
Our new $500,000 federal investment for a new firehouse will give our first responders a safe and modern station while reducing the burden on local taxpayers.
Watch some of my remarks on @SpecNews1SoCal:
No matter who you vote for this election cycle, the most important thing you can do is VOTE.
Your vote is your voice, and the state of California has resources to make it heard. Head over to https://t.co/XSBZz8zo5K if you have any questions.
I felt so honored being among many of our union friends, creative minds, and award-winning directors and actors at the @ADG800 Awards earlier this year!
I was able to connect and talk about my work on a national film tax credit, which will ensure that we keep both jobs and filming in our region.
Trump’s war of choice continues and hardworking Americans are feeling the pain at the pumps.
Americans shouldn’t have to take on multiple jobs just to get by.
Giving even more tax cuts to billionaires and fighting foreign wars while making things more expensive for you was Trump’s choice - one that I am working to reverse.
Amazing to see the plans coming together for @MuseumAnimation’s future home in Burbank – the heart of animation.
From golden age classics to cutting-edge techniquestechnologies shaping the industry's future, this museum will tell the full story of an art form that defines our region.
If Trump is king of anything, he's the King of Inflation, and Californians are now spending $3,000+ more on basic goods and services. Trump seems to have forgotten that he promised to end inflation and lower prices.
It’s past time for real solutions to this cost-of-living crisis this Administration has created.
A lot of time has passed since West Hollywood’s Fire Station 8 served as the backdrop for the 70’s show Emergency. Technology has changed, and so have earthquake risks.
I announced a major new federal investment to bring fire preparedness into the 21st century for those in one of the densest parts of LA. Take a listen here:
I worked in the film industry long enough to know that corporate consolidation usually means fewer jobs and more expensive choices for Americans.
That’s why I led 34 of my California colleagues in urging @AGRobBonta to examine this deal’s impact on consumers, Hollywood, and our local economy.
Hollywood’s comeback story can be made so much greater with a national film tax credit, which I’m working hard for every day in Congress.
Let’s get Hollywood back to work and people back in theatres!
I ran for Congress to make our lives better and our communities safer.
That’s why I am thrilled to have secured a $500,000 federal investment to get the firefighters and community members of West Hollywood a new firehouse ready to tackle emergencies.
This investment will save local tax dollars and provide peace of mind.

Congressional Republicans’ Big, Bad Bill is what got us into this mess, along with causing sky high grocery and gas prices. They’ve done nothing but greenlight everything Trump wants, including his war on affordability.
House Democrats and I are working hard every day to undo this damage.
