Creator of the CoVE (Conservation of Volumetric Energy) trading method. Hobbies include nap time and being absolutely relentless. God is good, all the time.
Fellow traders, I've been a part of unicorn startups, built company programs from scratch, and started (and sold) my own company. Trading has been more challenging than any of these.
Keep your chin up, move forward an inch at a time, and never forget that God is always good.
Always uncovering new stuff. Most use ATR or market structure to measure volatility and/or define TP targets. I just defined my own indicator, AER (Average Expansion Range), which works wonders when paired with Leading Failed2s!!! #TheStrat
@moh_sulaimon@TTrades_edu General rule of thumb for me is, if you’re backtesting based on closed candles to determine your probabilistic edge, you should wait for candle close.
Wait...can 2+ consecutive expansion candles in the same direction (not necessarily a FVG) define bias?! If so, I think it might be possible to only use a single TF. Need to dig further. 🤯
CoVE Momo!?
Huge discovery today for me on high volatility days. HTF structure doesn’t have much relevance once the VIX gets above 20. ‘tutes are unwinding yuge positions so it’s more about navigating big price legs and subsequent snap backs.
@TheH0n3stTrader@TradeQuantiX This! All the posts from furus going on and on about psychology when I guarantee you most traders don’t even have a proven statistical edge.
@HF_Trader This is a common trick used for those who have a fear of public speaking, shifting to a mindset of excitement at the opportunity to deliver a message to an audience.
@HF_Trader The same parts of the brain are stimulated by fear & excitement. For me, back & forward testing aligned w/ S.M.A.R.T. goals help temper my emotions and keep expectations of my progress in check. With that, I turned my anxious, fearful energy into anticipation of success.
@JBearTrades For me, trading is both a science and an art. Like so many things, it's really a gradient. We think we'd love for it to be 100% purely mechanical, but infinite variability in conditions mean we're always reading, learning, and adapting. That's what holds our intrigue.
@t0mbfx Trader. For as much as the community focuses on psychology, we care too much, IMO, about what others think when they hear that.
Set boundaries, try to have constructive dialogue, and accept that some might never accept it. We're (mostly) entrepreneurs, not gambling degens.
Continuing to refine my CoVE method w/ inclusion of Volume Absorbing Wicks (VAWs) and Volume Absorbing Bodies (VABs) upon trend realignment. 6 wins, 1 loss this past Friday w/ the updates! 🧑🍳🔥
IMO, order flow provides unmatched visibility into Net Institutional Intent (NI²).
@Jacobtradesz Clarification on what you mean by "the trend" might help some out due to variance across different time frames. For example, TheStrat states that trading with the trend means MTFC (Multiple Time Frame Continuity) and typically calls for alignment across 3+ time frames.
@SellingRips This is the shift I’m currently making. I’m at the bottom of the curve just starting to enter positive slope territory. No more strategy hopping, just consistent discipline.
