What we lose when the Bible is only on a screen:
1. You remember where the verse lives on the page and aids memorization.
2. The page shows you much more at once. You see the context, not just a few verses at once.
3. The page keeps your notes. Years from now they will still be there, in your own hand.
4. The page cannot distract you with a notification. It only asks to be read.
5. The page is something your children watch you open and they know it’s the Bible.
The screen gives much. The page gives more.
It's time to remove laptops from classrooms.
24 experiments: Students learn more and get better grades after taking notes by hand than typing. It's not just because they're less distracted—writing enables deeper processing and more images.
The pen is mightier than the keyboard.
@lukedsimmons Agreed, Luke. We never "move past" our need for the gospel. We grow in grace, knowledge, and love-motivated obedience, but every aspect of discipleship is founded on the gospel.
Don't just attend church.
Love the church.
Serve the church.
Give through the church.
Invite people to church.
Worship Jesus with the church.
Encourage the church.
Participate in the church.
Pray for the church.
Be the church.
No matter what the world says, the Bible still teaches:
- truth is absolute
- all life is valuable
- Jesus is the only way
- Heaven & Hell is real
- marriage is between a man
& a woman
- life begins at conception
- God determines sex & gender
Want your worship experience to be different at church this weekend?
-Pray on the way
-Worship during the drive
-Take a Bible with you
-Don't run late
-Sing like you mean it
-Take notes
-Talk to people
-Expect God to move
-Go live out the sermon
How to pray for your pastor before church services:
Pray for them:
-to be anointed by the Spirit
-to preach from the overflow of
their own worship of God
-to point people to Jesus
-to faithfully teach the Word
-to be protected from the enemy
-to rest well afterwards

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
Philippians 4:8
The Christians who have turned the world upside down have been men and women with a vision in their souls, the resurrected Christ in their hearts, and the Bible in their hands. - TB Maston
Amber Thurman’s tragic death was caused by complications from legal abortion drugs and gross medical malpractice. She should have been treated immediately by physicians who instead waited too long to act.
Georgia’s pro-life law is not the issue. It does not criminalize doing a D&C, especially when there is no detectable fetal heart rate. Amber should be alive, and @vp should focus her attention on these facts so we can prevent the next tragedy rather than promoting politically motivated falsehoods.
I distrust people who demonize their opponents.
I trust people who love their opponents and present their views honestly and charitably.
Your opponents aren't props to exalt yourself or prove your point.
They're image-bearers who need Jesus, just like you and me.
Anyone can say that "Christ is Risen" on Easter Sunday, but do you live like "Christ is Risen" every day?
That is what will show the world that the Resurrection is real.
Easter Sunday being declared as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility' is no coincidence. The timing is intentional, but here’s 6 things to remember:
1. It doesn’t matter what Government says, it matters what God says.
2. God determines sex & gender.
3. God doesn’t make mistakes.
4. If God is Creator then He gets to be Definer. It’s very arrogant for us to think we get to re-define what God has already defined.
5. It's not hateful to say that God determines sex & gender. It's actually more unloving to affirm & celebrate someone into believing a lie that a perfect God made a mistake on them.
6. No amount of “visibility days” or affirmation will ever make you feel whole & happy. Only a RISEN SAVIOR (the real meaning of Easter) can do that for you.
