Automotive journalism in South Africa is a mess and it’s quite evident here on twitter 💀,it focuses on one brand while criticizing all others, showing a lack of understanding of how cars operate, and it's literally the main reason why we don’t get cool cars in the country
"We're not going anywhere..... They didn't call us, we came by our will. We used the Crocodile transport to cross the big Limpopo. No one will tell us what to do. They must come here, we're waiting for them."
This video was recorded by illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe. It's main intention is to mock South Africans. The acting National Commissioner of Police have not traced them to this day nor threatened them like she does to South Africans who're marching peaceful and get shot by the same people who called asylum seekers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAFTU CONDEMNS MOB VIOLENCE AND THE DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY
The South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) condemns in the strongest terms the torching of people’s cars, shops and buildings, the looting of businesses and the wanton destruction of property. No grievance, protest or political demand gives anyone the right to attack people, burn their livelihoods or terrorise communities.
People have the right to protest. Generations fought for that right, and SAFTU will defend it. But the right to protest cannot be turned into a licence to assault people, loot shops or set property alight.
The violence has been fuelled by a deliberate misrepresentation of the facts: the false claim that the Constitutional Court has ruled that all undocumented foreign nationals must be granted asylum. The Court ruled that people cannot be denied access to the asylum application process solely because they entered the country unlawfully. It did not grant asylum or permanent residence to everyone who is undocumented; each claim must still be considered through the proper process.
This distortion feeds anti-migrant sentiment by mixing legitimate public frustration over unmanaged borders and pressure on scarce resources with hostility towards migrants. Government has a responsibility to manage migration, enforce the law and address pressures on jobs and public services. But migrants must not be made scapegoats for failures of governance or treated as targets for mob violence.
SAFTU rejects xenophobia, vigilantism and mob justice. Concerns about migration must be raised through peaceful protest and democratic debate, and addressed through lawful processes. Mobs cannot be allowed to act as judge, jury and executioner.
This violence is sustained by impunity. When perpetrators are not swiftly identified, arrested and prosecuted, mobs conclude that they can act without consequence. Repeated episodes of xenophobic violence have shown where that failure leads: more fear, more destruction and more lives put at risk. The police and prosecuting authorities must act decisively and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
Political parties have been shamefully quiet. Too many appear afraid that defending constitutional rights and condemning xenophobia will cost them votes. That is a cynical trade: sacrificing principle for political convenience. Their silence leaves the field open to those spreading lies and encouraging violence. It also tells the mobs that nobody with power will challenge them.
The state must restore order, protect everyone living in South Africa and enforce the law without favour. Political leaders must speak clearly and consistently against xenophobia and mob violence. Silence in the face of this carnage is not neutrality. It is a failure of leadership.
SAFTU calls on workers and communities to reject misinformation, refuse to join or protect violent mobs, and stand together against xenophobia. We will not allow the working class to be divided and turned against itself while the real causes of unemployment, poverty and failing public services go unaddressed.
A statement was issued on behalf of SAFTU by the General Secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi.
