@RoyNemer Its a huge gamble and way too risky, in the event of any potential injury to Cuti/Licha, no quality CB will be available as backup. Otamendi will be badly beaten when fast attackers will be unleashed at him, he will commit offenses potentially getting a red.

The answer is Scaloni was concerned over Romero's injury and the fact that Licha is prone to injury and an aged Otamendi may not be that effective. So he took a 4th CB. Going by that, it is highly likely a CB (Senesi) will replace Balerdi.
