Also consider the Big picture. President Trump has directly and strongly criticized radical Islam, standing as a guest in ME nations, and bern honored for it. Many od these Arabs are " Muslim" but raised in Western schools and Universities, and are not true believers and have seen the Arab world blown up by countless religious wars. Islamists are dark age barbaric relics that never had a reformation.

However the asymmetric warfare is not without effects. Many ME nations are extremely dependent on desalination. And these are vulnerable to rocket and drone fire. In my view this is why President Trump has chosen to hold back and I suspect attempts to harden these sites are underway as well as deepened intelligence on where Iran still has such limited capacity to harm.
