@zanyfen I've been seeing a massive influx of these types of posts, clearly written by AI and just the longest shit imaginable. Even all the replies feel like bots. I don't know who's behind it but somehow this app keeps getting shittier and shittier
If you're a college student who fails a paper because you write at the level of a brain-damaged 3rd grader you can pull an Uno reverse card and get your professor fired as long as your parents are wealthy Republicans
There is a web of white supremacists lurking in the shadows of the Trump administration (both in high positions and as ICE agents) who take PLEASURE in this stuff. If you support Trump at all, you also support white nationalism. You are complicit whether you like it or not
Conservatives say that they want to deport criminals and drug dealers etc because it makes their rhetoric more palatable. In reality, they want to ruin the lives of normal, productive, law-abiding, essentially naturalized 19 year olds, and it makes them feel good! They love it!
"A 19-year-old college student was about to board a flight to surprise her family for Thanksgiving when she was detained at Boston Logan Airport and deported to Honduras two days later...
The student, Any Lucía López Belloza, was brought by her parents from Honduras to the United States when she was 7." https://t.co/N0KnoiRjzI
This is clearly not a relief from alienation, it's a symptom of it. The social networks that would allow these people to leave their kids in the care of family or friends are GONE
Out of touch rich dude with housekeepers when he sees gig economy slaves taking their kids to their job because they can't afford childcare and societal atomization means they don't have anyone else to care for their kids during the day: "wow this is folksy!"
Last week our DoorDash driver brought a child with him to the door. She bounced along happily at his heels. Then this week an Amazon driver had her family in the car with her when she delivered a package. And, over the summer my housekeeper brings her daughter with her and she plays with my dear dog and toys around the house or things I print for her.
The personal world blending into the work world is an interesting phenomenon. It is a return to the preindustrial world. It is a humane development relieving some of the alienation of work.
What we want is not to be free from work but free from humiliation.
A couple hundred years ago, you would have visited the blacksmith or cobbler and he would have a few kids at his elbow or playing in the yard.
@SacrilegeSpur@fleshsimulator The undesirables are the people who get so stupid mad at minor traffic incidents that they feel the need to blindly fire shots into other cars
@JasperMacdonald @cregnocreek Drake, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, etc are sort of coworker music, true. But only because people who listen to coworker music will inevitably also like them. It's just the original post was a mishmash of artists that do not map onto any coherent definition of coworker music
@JasperMacdonald @cregnocreek If you think System of a Down/Modest Mouse/The Strokes/Kendrick Lamar is "NPC music" then you're way out of touch with what the average person listens to. Real Coworker music is shit you've never even heard of that sounds like straight ass and has 1 billion views on Youtube
So curious that such a wealthy man never posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates— scenes from nature, pet dog or cat, praise for a movie, music, a book (but doubt that he reads); pride in a friend’s or relative’s accomplishment; condolences for someone who has died; pleasure in sports, acclaim for a favorite team; references to history. In fact he seems totally uneducated , uncultured. The poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the “most wealthy person in the world.”
The "fertility crisis" does not weigh on me at all. It weighs on the minds of a handful of online elites, politicians and 20 year old guys who don't have a girlfriend, and when you actually talk to those people and the cruelty they display towards others you understand why
A beautiful coda to the DOGE saga. Elon Musk ripping the copper wiring out and knocking down the supporting columns for half a year before declaring the problem unfixable.
The screenshotted post makes no criticism - hell this could be a fan simply quoting his favorite lines.
Charlie was such a fucked up guy that quoting him implicitly reads as trying to make him look bad. That's deeply sad. This was his life's work! Own it!
