being a small group leader in the student ministry blesses me WEEKLY.
tonight, a girl was sharing about her salvation/baptism story didn’t feel very big or interesting
another girl quickly chimed in with, “and angels still rejoice in Heaven.”
fun story:
One time in undergrad (my senior year) my favorite professor passed me in the hall and said “He is risen!” and I said, “So true.”
it wasn’t until the next day in class that I learned “He is risen indeed.”
Today, the Lord said “yes” to something I have been asking Him for for nearly three years.
His “yes” looks different that I expected, but better than I could’ve imagined.
And my friends and I got to praise God together for His “yes.”
Something the Holy Spirit has taught me over the past couple years is to get comfortable asking for prayer.
I had always been afraid of burdening my friends to pray for me but then I learned what an honor it is to intercede for them & watch God move in their lives.
This also required me to let go of a loooot of pride- something He & I are still working on. Rejecting the “I’m all good, I got this” mentality is NOT something that comes naturally to me.
But the REWARD in vulnerability. The peace that enters my life when my friends pray.
holy moment tonight: looking over during my church’s prayer & worship event and seeing one of my tenth grade girls with her arm wrapped around another, praying over her sister.
I say it all the time- being a small group leader is the BEST.
tonight one of my tenth grade girls walked up to me at church, announced that she brought wings, and proceeded to pull a tupperware of bbq chicken wings from a bag.
I want to be like her when I grow up.
This most recent term of grad school was my most difficult.
I doubted myself more than I ever have.
“Am I smart enough?” “Will I become a good therapist?”
I just checked my final grades.
4.0 for the term. That hasn’t happened since elementary school.
Praise be to God.
planning what to get my friends for Christmas & now writing their names on their gift tags is such a sweet reminder of the Lord’s faithfulness.
I tried so hard for so long to fit into places that weren’t meant for me- but now I see why that never seemed to work.
