this was someone who was ready to sacrifice everything!! & i'm not unhappy he got (some) of his family back & had that support system for most of his time in the rebellion, but it just doesn't feel like the same character we see in r1 to me. idk.

idk like. it was such a perfect ending to s1 & FELT like it was the lead-in to the jaded, dedicated, all-in cass in r1. he just had to send his only family away & he says he'll find them but to me that always felt like a false promise, no matter how much he'd want it to be true
