And AI is helping scammers fake the job market.
The Better Business Bureau said job scam reports doubled in 2025.
Please don’t let remote job blind you.
Some offers are traps to scam you.
It's almost 10.30 pm, and I don't feel like it's late.
And my wife has not even called me to say that I should be coming home.
It seems my clock isn't correct.

Why Remote Job Applications From Africa Get Ignored
I’m going to say something uncomfortable.
A lot of remote job applications from African professionals get ignored.
Not because the candidates aren’t qualified.
But because of these 5 fixable mistakes:
Generic CV with no tailoring
Sending the same CV to every job is the fastest way to get ignored. Every application must speak directly to that specific role.
Cover letters that start with “I am writing to apply…”
This sentence has been used millions of times. It shows zero effort. Start with something that proves you understand the company’s problem.
No online presence
International employers Google you. If nothing shows up — or your LinkedIn is empty — it creates doubt. Your profile is your global business card.
Applying on the wrong platforms
Many global companies don’t post on local job boards. You have to apply where they actually hire — and most people don’t know where that is.
Not addressing timezone concerns early
Remote employers worry about overlap. Address it directly in your application:
“I’m based in EAT (UTC+3) and have full overlap with European business hours.”
This removes hesitation immediately.
These are fixable problems.
Every single one.
Which of these have you struggled with? Be honest — I want to hear.
