@laurendane Boys grow into men and they treat others how they were treated. So many cases could be avoided if only they had a mentor rather than a bully. Healthy love, affection, sharing emotions and parental attentiveness without judgement when they share their day! 🥰
@laurendane I can tell you from working with trauma cases, its the consistency. Withholding affection and using affection as a reward for positive/desirable behavior is a huge problem. Same with "teach consent!" No. It's "model consent!" Listen when boys say no. To sports, hugs, whatever ❤
@4kahler@kim_lindman Great dates are amazing. I can just imagine wading through the confused maze of excited bodies. They are like perpetually awkward and if they'd talk I feel like they'd just be saying "sorry", "whoops" "just gonna skooch on by" 😆
@kim_lindman when I had to drive long distance by myself I had a life-size cardboard cutout (like from movie store rental days) in the passenger seat. He also lived in my dorm and you could see him from the street. Many a drunk frat bro waved to him and carried on merrily away from my dorm
@kimyoonmiauthor @TSEXTON013 I am so interested to know where you got the numbers I'd love to share to my writing community. There is so much double speak about wanting to see marginalized voices represented but the reality there is still so much work we need to do to close those gaps ❤
@BethBarany@TSEXTON013 Yes nearly all of my friends who have gotten agents, it has been a year or more. Some with hundred plus queries, some with less queries, but for all of them it took a long time and persistence.
@simcarter It's the intention, and the ability to do it well. Wally Lamb is a great example of a man writing a female protagonist. I don't think she knows what appropriation means or perhaps within the context of specific examples, the point of her argument was lost. I dunno.
You may be a steaming pile of shit, but at least you're not a solicit-funds-for-ukraine-then-fire-whole-ukrainian-team-without-notice level of steaming pile of shit.
A US tech company, Alchemy System, who employed Ukrainian engineers, just fired their entire Quality Assurance team in Ukraine, without giving them any warning or notice.
To make this mass layoff even more insulting, Alchemy did this after tweeting in support of Ukraine.
I admit, it hurts and it’s frustrating that books with wheelchair users that are described as burdens and undesirable are getting published, while my book about a wheelchair user who is never seen as a burden by the man she loves – who finds her incredibly desirable – is not.
@noa_i_guess_ @EliseMeder Etiquette, professionalism and common decency. You have had it explained many times. You did gaslight the moment you said she should be flattered you'd want to use her idea. Here is a website that might help your questions. https://t.co/oaJM4TyL5Y
