quite an article! most of us have literally no idea how deliberate, zealous & nonstop the absurd romanticization of the "Lost Cause" (the glory of the Confederacy) has been in the South, & how it persists to this very day with little opposition.

Lots of people are rediscovering and re-sharing this post this morning, so I’m putting it again here.
Listen to @esglaude. Really take in his words.
The work we have ahead of us is deep, and transcends elections. It always has been. And we are called to do it.
Che ci piaccia o no.
Fascist power doesn't care about consistency, rules, fairness, precedents, truth. Fascist power does not respond to appeals to its hypocrisy, its lies, its unfairness, its destruction. Fascist power only responds to power. Fascist power only cares about power. #GOPfascism
#perolike: If thousands of people use a word, IT EXISTS. To insist otherwise is prescriptive, elitist nonsense. There are formal and informal ways of speaking, but to deny a word's existence (or use in a certain way) is linguistic ignorance.
Not only is deliberate memorization unnecessary in language learning, it is tedious and not as effective as simply engaging with the language, listening, reading, speaking and writing. https://t.co/1Kz5NGneKx
This is how the system works:
1) Corporations demand lower taxes, claiming it will create jobs.
2) They lobby the President and Members of Congress with campaign cash.
3) They make billions in lower taxes, while not creating jobs or making new investments.
4) Repeat.
