#ASH25 is a whirlwind, but nothing beats seeing how much joy our annual meeting brings to the #hematology community (30K strong!).
We stand for science and the breakthroughs shared here head to the bedside tomorrow.
Some highlights below:
👇Maurice’s story is an inspiration to me personally and a triumph of science and research in fighting myeloma
It keeps me grounded on our mission to advance curative treatments for myeloma & other cancers

[Proud sister moment!] - I've media trained many people over the years, but helping my sister prepare for a live in-studio interview was top tier!

Boldly Standing Up for Science. With science under political attack and federal funding threatened, ASH stepped up to #Fight4Hematology as never before. The 2025 Annual Report has the full story. 🔗 https://t.co/tEigOjELwx

If you’re 40+:
👆Don’t wait—schedule your screening mammogram.
👆Do a self-exam every month on your birthday.
👆Remember: ~80% of suspicious findings are benign, but you only know if you get checked.
Talk to your doctor, get screened, and remind a friend to do the same.
PSA: I got the best kind of “nothing” today - my biopsy was NEGATIVE. 🎉 I finally scheduled the mammogram my OBGYN ordered when I turned 40, and it found a mass I would have felt if I’d been doing monthly self-exams.
NIH funding powers discoveries that improve outcomes for patients with blood disorders. ASH calls on Congress to act before the January 30 deadline and secure robust funding for NIH in the FY26 Labor-HHS bill. https://t.co/1blQl4VvWf

Happy Holidays!
This year brought many adventures: Andrea and her mom traveled to New Zealand to visit her brother Byron and his partner Laura, Andrea completed her master’s in health communication from Boston University, and together we explored the San Francisco Bay area.
We logged plenty of miles hiking the trails in Shenandoah. Up next: we’re planning to explore the Grand Canyon at the end of December.
Amid a year filled with joy & challenging moments for many, we’re grateful for the bright spots and for the people who make them meaningful.
The gavel has officially passed at #ASH25. Thank you, Dr. Avalos, for your outstanding leadership. And welcome to Dr. Robert Negrin, whose dedication to mentorship, discovery, and advancing hematology will continue to strengthen the field.
