The best part about @DDOTDC's bus lane enforcement is that cameras are mounted on active MetroBuses.

That means that if you get a ticket, you actively blocked or slowed down a bus — or made it harder for riders to safely board.

Would have been nice to include that in the story!

This is a great video from DDOT showing how bus lane violations hurt people with disabilities and seniors, put riders in danger, or block access to buses altogether.

(And that’s in addition to slowing down buses that transport dozens of people at a time.)
